CDC Allows "No-Sail" Order to Expire, Disney Cruise Line Gets Ready to Resume Sailings Responsibly

Yesterday afternoon, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued new guidance on cruising and will let its no-sail order expire today (Saturday, October 31). This is an important step forward for the cruise industry and for Disney Cruise Line.

The guidance provides for a phased return to cruising in the future tied to specific requirements around health and safety protocols, test voyages, and certification of ships, among other conditions. The Walt Disney Company is carefully reviewing the guidance and working together with industry partners and the CDC to better understand how this latest action will affect the timing of Disney’s return to operations.

The teams at Disney Cruise Line have the utmost confidence in the company's ability to resume sailing responsibly when the time is right, with a multi-layered approach to health and safety. Additional information about future sailings will be released soon.
