Center of Future World Closing for Construction at Epcot on February 16

Guests visiting Epcot over the past few months have seen the heart of Future World change several times, and today the Walt Disney World Resort shared the final impacts for that area before it begins its complete transformation.

On February 16, the remaining areas in the center of Future World will be closed, including Electric Umbrella, Pin Central, and the nearby merchandise and outdoor vending carts. As part of these closures, Guests traveling through Future World will be able to use one of the new park passageways. This includes the existing Future World West passage near The Seas and a new Future World East passage, opening Feb. 16, which runs adjacent to the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind construction site (please note that the Spaceship Earth east restrooms will reopen at a later date).

Following the closure of Electric Umbrella, other locations throughout the park will be available to provide quick-service dining including:
  • Eats at the Epcot Experience – featuring a newly expanded menu of flatbreads, chicken nuggets and salads
  • Sunshine Seasons – now also featuring burgers
