Disney Cast Members to Be Able to Substitute Main Entrance Pass Entitlements for Disney+ Bundle Starting in 2020

Beginning January 2020, The Walt Disney Company will provide new perks to Cast Members.

Currently, the majority of Cast Members working for The Walt Disney Company has the ability to take family members and friends to the theme parks for free (blockout dates and restrictions apply). Starting from next year, Cast Members will have the option to select annually EITHER the Disney Parks Main Entrance Pass (complimentary theme park admission for family and friends) OR the Disney+ bundle (Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu).

The window for making an initial selection is January 17-31, 2020. Once the Cast Member makes a selection, he or she will receive a confirmation email. Cast Members wishing to change their selection for 2021 will be able to do so in the fall of 2020.

With either option, Cast Members will still receive a limited number of complimentary park tickets each year (usually 4), which can be used to admit extra guests into theme parks or given as gifts to family, friends, or charitable organizations. They will also still be able to self-admit to U.S. theme parks, as well as continue to enjoy a variety of discounts on Disney experiences including shopping, dining, vacations, and more.

  1. Rumor has it that they are offering this in lieu of main gate passes, and if you do not opt out of this in January you will be forced into taking Disney+. Remember to opt out doing nothing loses your main gate.
