On Oct. 7, 1998, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin welcomed Guests at Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort for the first time. Guests board a XP-37 star cruiser and voyage deep into the Gamma Quadrant where they take aim to stop Buzz Lightyear’s arch-nemesis: The Evil Emperor Zurg.

1998 – Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin opens at Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort

1989 – The Contemporary Café opens at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

1988 – The Magical World of Disney (television) premieres on NBC

1957 – The first episode of Zorro (television) premieres on ABC

Oct. 11
1946 – Bath Day (cartoon short) starring Figaro and Minnie Mouse debuts

Oct. 12
2007 – Wizards of Waverly Place (television) premieres on Disney Channel

Oct. 13
1995 – The 500,000,000 Guest visits Walt Disney World Resort
