The skies above the Walt Disney World Resort became a little more colorful today with the unwrapping of 55 Disney Skyliner cabins on the line between Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This is just the next step forward in testing the resort's new, state-of-the-art gondola system that will begin transporting Guests at Walt Disney World Resort this fall.

All 22 character themes and eight vibrant colors are moving across the line, including Pluto, Winnie the Pooh and friends, and those boisterous buccaneers from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Guests will have a chance to “ride along” with their favorite characters and colors later this year.

  1. Looks nice!
But I'd still rather have an expanded monorail.

  2. The monorail is very expensive to operate compaired to other methods. It looks nice but its not cost effective. More likely they will expand the gondolas to other resorts. Much cheeper to operate and build.
