Islands of Adventure Update: Work on New Jurassic Park Ride Continues (PART 1)

Universal's Islands of Adventure continues to grow each and every year. In just a few months, a new family roller coaster will open in the site formerly occupied by Dragon Challenge, while a more thrilling coaster awaits Guests visiting the park in the not-so-distant future (either 2020 or 2021).

Let's take a look around to see what's going on inside the park. As usual, we hope you'll enjoy this tour.

Let's begin by checking out the gorgeous Port of Entry area:

A new-ish Funko kiosk can be found near the entrance of Marvel Superhero Island:

A couple of photo-ops used for the Grad Bash event can be found nearby:

The area in front of the Jurassic Park Discovery Center looks so bare without the trees:

A new roller coaster is expected to be installed in this area. We truly hope it won't be an eyesore.

  1. Having good hope from Universal on the new coaster. I'm thinking it won't be an eyesore, they've been really good with that these past years, Even Fast and Furious looks good, from the outside and fits really well. Sure the ride is awful, but it fits so well with the surrounding area.

But Disney? Well considering giant eyesore that is Guardians of Galaxy, and eyesore that is TRON coaster next to Space Mountain. I'm really finding myself having a lot more faith in Universal these days then Disney. Love them both to death, but Disney's really making a lot of "Old Universal" decisions in their parks.

    1. I wouldn't call it awful, it has it's pros and cons, but it isn't something that is a must do at the parks.

    2. How are you going to call Guardians and Tron eye sores when they aren’t even finished yet? Especially Tron...pretty sure it’s still more or less just dust at this point haha. Plus, based off of the pictures, the show building for Tron is going to be quite attractive and perfectly compliment Tomorrowland. Disney parks have always been more aesthetically pleasing than Universal parks, as Disney takes great care in preventing eye sores in their parks. (Their history of using balloons as a test before construction) Frankly, I can’t think of any current eye sores in any Disney parks (besides the endless construction walls lol), so I doubt the new attractions will be either.

  2. Yes Capt your right, better to have a really bad horrible ride like the fast and the furious than to have a great ride that may or may not be esthetically pleasing to all. Nice call
