Severe Weather Impacts Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens

The severe weather that made its way to Florida on the morning of January 24 has caused damage to trees and property at the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens. All animals and staff are safe.

“We experienced significant damage from what is believed to be a tornado that moved through Zoo property early this morning,” said Stephanie Williams, Zoo Director. “Most of the damage to trees is near the entrance of the Zoo. The animals are all safe and there is no damage to any animal habitats or exhibits."

The Zoo will remain open for normal business hours today, but Seminole Aerial Adventures and the Little Florida Coastline train will be closed until debris has been removed and the damage can be fully assessed.
