PHOTOS: New Entrance and Parking Plaza Now Open at Kennedy Space Center

Earlier today, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex opened a brand-new entrance and parking plaza! Located off Space Commerce Way, it features six lanes with two automatic pay stations. As Guests approach the plaza, they will be greeted by stunning views of NASA’s massive Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), the Rocket Garden, and the space shuttle’s orange external tank and boosters.

The plaza itself is designed to look like NASA’s behemoth crawler-transporter, which carried the massive Saturn V rocket and the space shuttles to the launch pads. Now, it’s being prepped to transport NASA’s next rocket, the Space Launch System (SLS), to the launch pad in the near future!

In the recent years,  the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex opened new attractions, like Heroes and Legends and updated the look and feel of the visitor complex with a modern KSC Bus Tour and fully revamped Astronaut Training Experience Center to reflect NASA’s future missions to Mars. The new entrance complements all of these changes, welcoming Guests to a day of exploration.
