This week:
Mulan was the first feature film to be primarily produced at the Walt Disney Feature Animation (now known as Walt Disney Animation Studios) facility at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Fla. The film was released on June 19, 1998, following a worldwide premiere at the Hollywood Bowl. Mulan is based on a 2,000-year-old Chinese folktale and filmmakers sent a group of artistic supervisors on a 3-week trip to China to sketch and photograph intriguing sites and soak up the culture as part of the production process.
