Updated Park Map and Times Guide Coming to Animal Kingdom on April 22

Disney’s Animal Kingdom marks its 20th anniversary on Earth Day, April 22, with a parkwide celebration featuring animal encounters, family-friendly activities, specialty food & beverage offerings and more. The party will last two weeks with an expanded Party for the Planet celebration running through May 5.

The festivities will kick off with a celebration in front of the iconic Tree of Life featuring favorite characters and performers from around Disney’s Animal Kingdom along with remarks from Disney executives celebrating two decades of the “new species of theme park.” The ceremony will be live streamed on the Disney Parks Blog beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Over the two-week Party for the Planet, Guests can experience unique animal encounters, backstage tours at Rafiki’s Planet Watch and specialty food & beverage offerings. They will also be able to bring home a memory with commemorative merchandise or a special photo opportunity with frames and props made for the occasion. Details of all event offerings are included in an Adventure Guide available at the Main Entrance.

Here's the digital version of the updated park map that will be available at the park starting tomorrow (the full-size version can be found here). Please, note that a glitch has affected the cover of the map:

April 22 also brings the debut of two new entertainment experiences at the park: UP! A Great Bird Adventure and the Pandora Utility Suit. The first features Russell and Dug from the Disney•Pixar animated comedy-adventure film “UP” in a new adventure that includes encounters with exotic birds from around the world. And visitors to Pandora – The World of Avatar may encounter the towering mechanical suit piloted by a scientist who shares details about the land’s otherworldly landscape and the importance of preserving nature.
