Disney Confirms that Hollywood Studios Will Not Get a New Name

During the 2015 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, Bob Iger (the Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company) was asked by a child if the name of Disney's Hollywood Studios would change again in the future. After trying to avoid sharing too many details, Bob Iger finally admitted that there were plans to change the park's name for the third time.

In fact, he stated that they are "doing some significant work [at Disney's Hollywood Studios] right now," and that "it will result in a name change." He then proceeds to say: "now we can announce that... we are changing the name, but we won't announce what we are changing it to."

Despite the announcement, the company seems to have decided not to go ahead with that plan.

Earlier today, almost three years after Bob Iger made that announcement, a post on the official Disney Parks Blog included the following statement about this particular detail:

"In response to questions we have been receiving, we also want to let fans know that the Disney’s Hollywood Studios name will remain the same for the foreseeable future since we are immersing our guests in a place where imagined worlds of Hollywood unfold around them from movies and music, to television and theater."

What do you think? Do you like the park's current name or do you think Disney should change it?

    1. Back in 2015, Bob Iger announced that the park's name would change in the future, but Disney announced yesterday that Disney's Hollywood Studios will retain its name for the foreseeable future.

We have slightly modified the article to avoid any confusion.

  3. DISNEY HOLLYWOOD ADVENTURE!!! Simple, yet meaningful. When I go the the theater and sit in the quiet darkness, I wait to be transported to another place and time. . . Films take us on one adventure after another. . . DISNEY HOLLYWOOD ADVENTURE. . .

  5. Change it back to MGM! Then I won't have to keep thinking about what it's called now!
