Disney Changes Two Bus Routes to Ease Traffic on Buena Vista Drive

Guests driving around the Walt Disney World Resort might be familiar with the infamous Buena Vista Drive. Even though this road is currently being expanded and millions of dollars are being spent to study ways to ease traffic, the high number of traffic lights and vehicles can make it a nightmare for Guests trying to reach either end of the resort. For this reason, some bus routes have been modified to use more effectively some of the nearby roads that might not be as busy.

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort:
As of last month, buses heading from Disney Springs to Disney's Coronado Springs Resort no longer continue down Buena Vista Drive; instead, they now make a right onto Bonnet Creek Parkway, left on Epcot Drive to World Drive South, to Buena Vista Drive.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge:
Similarly, buses heading from Disney Springs to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge no longer continue down Buena Vista Drive; instead, they make a right onto Bonnet Creek Parkway, left on Epcot Drive to World Drive South, to Osceola Parkway.

As of now, only two bus routes have been modified. Additional changes may be coming in the following months. Stay tuned.

  1. I know lots of people probably don't care about news of this nature. But for me, this infrastructure and transportation news is interesting.

As far as I know, you're the only Disney blog that covers this type of news. It's one of the reasons I visit your site daily. Thanks!

  2. Now this has me curious about all the bus routes! Do you have the other routes mapped out or just did it for the change?
