Mobile Order Coming to Other Magic Kingdom & Epcot Restaurants

The Walt Disney World Resort recently confirmed that Mobile Order will be available at Columbia Harbour House at the Magic Kingdom Park beginning July 31 as well as at the Electric Umbrella and Liberty Inn (both located at Epcot) beginning August 1 and August 7 respectively. Using the My Disney Experience app, Guests can select menu items, customize their order and pre-pay for their meal. When they arrive at the restaurant, Guests tap an “I’m here” button and pick up their meal.

New Offer for Tables in Wonderland Members at Walt Disney World

Starting from this week, Tables in Wonderland members are eligible to receive a special discount at select Resort table-service restaurants through September 30. This promotion is in addition to the offer for Annual Passholders and DVC Members (Tables in Wonderland members can even receive a discount on alcohol). Tables in Wonderland members can enjoy a 30% discount on regular price food and beverages when dining during the dinner meal period before 6:30 p.m. or after 8:30 p.m.

New Merchandise Location Opens at Disney's Yacht Club Resort

The merchandise side of The Market at Ale & Compass is now open at Disney's Yacht Club Resort. This completes the new-concept market, serving Guests as a one-stop-shop for food and beverage and merchandise. In this new location, Guests will be able to find a variety of clothing including Lilly Pulitzer and Tommy Bahama, sundries, snacks and beverages, MagicBands, and much more! The Market at Ale & Compass is open daily from 6 a.m.-11:30 p.m.

SeaWorld Orlando Update: Electric Ocean Summer Event (PART 1)

SeaWorld Orlando's "Electric Ocean" is a winner. This limited-time event includes great shows, dance parties, special effects, and an all-new nighttime spectacular that rivals some of the offerings found at Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando. While there's nothing that can top Happily Ever After (at least at the time this article was composed), Ignite features some of the most amazing special effects. And that's only one of the many offerings available as part of this special summer event!

Previously, we had the chance to walk around many of the areas close to the park's entrance, as well as the Sea of Mystery (including Kraken Unleashed and Journey to Atlantis), Antarctica, and more. Castaway Cay Named Top Cruise Line Private Island in 2017

For the second consecutive year, Cruise Critic Members have recognized Disney Castaway Cay in the Bahamas as the “Top Cruise Line Private Island” in the second annual Cruise Critic’s Cruisers’ Choice Destination Awards. Castaway Cay was also the most highly-rated Caribbean island overall among members. The Cruisers’ Choice Destination Awards are selected based on thousands of first-hand reviews posted to the Cruise Critic website this year.

Online Check-In Service Now Available on My Disney Experience App

Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels are now able to use Disney’s Online Check-In service on the My Disney Experience mobile app, expediting their arrival while providing additional convenience, flexibility and customization of their experience. The feature enables Guests to start the check-in process up to 60 days before their arrival, bypassing the need to visit the front desk and giving families the opportunity to begin their vacation as soon as they set foot in Walt Disney World.

Timon to Meet Guests on Discovery Island at Animal Kingdom

Starting from October 1, Guests visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom will be able to meet Timon from the highly-rated Festival of the Lion King show. This will be the second “The Lion King” character at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as Rafiki greets Guests in Rafiki’s Planet Watch. Also in October, Tarzan will leave the park and return home. His final greeting with Guests will take place on September 30. Be sure to refer to the park's Times Guide for more information on character meet-and-greets.

Supercar Executive Hao Wang to Join Dynamic Attractions This Fall

Guy Nelson, CEO of Dynamic Attractions (a company behind some of Disney and Universal’s most beloved rides) recently announced that the company’s new president and chief operating officer for ride systems will be Mr. Hao Wang. “Dynamic Attractions’ expertise, award-winning performance, and achievements are well respected,” states Mr. Wang. “It is an honour to join Dynamic, a company’s whose innovation and hard work has brought joy to millions of people worldwide.”

The Dress Shop Returns to Marketplace Co-Op at Disney Springs

The Dress Shop is back at Cherry Tree Lane in the Marketplace Co-Op! Combining vintage style and modern fits, The Dress Shop draws inspiration from classic Disney characters and theme park attractions including Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, “it’s a small world,” Minnie Mouse, Snow White, and the Orange Bird. The original collection featuring ten unique dresses is back, as well as a new dress inspired by Cinderella. Be sure to check it out next time you visit Disney Springs!

Operating Hours for "A Pirate's Adventure" Changing Starting July 30

Starting from Sunday, July 30, A Pirate’s Adventure ~ Treasures of the Seven Seas (the scavenger hunt that allows Guests to go on pirate-themed "missions" and interact with multiple props around Adventureland) will be available for Guests to enjoy from 12 – 6 p.m. daily. Magic Kingdom Park Guests seeking a pirate experience earlier or later in the day may continue to enjoy the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, available from park open until park close.

Mission: SPACE Reopens Aug. 13 Featuring New Experiences

On August 13, The Walt Disney World Resort will relaunch Mission: SPACE with a brand-new "Green Mission" and an enhanced version of the "Orange Mission." The Orange Mission will continue to be a truly intense experience that lets Guests feel the force of an actual space launch en route to Mars. On this mission, they’ll dodge meteoroids, slingshot around the moon, and attempt to land on the Red Planet. This mission has been enhanced with new, HD video to make it even clearer.

Fun Spot Update: Mine Blower Wooden Coaster Opens to the Public

The Fun Spot America amusements park located in Kissimmee continues to grow in size thanks to new attraction that continue to be added regularly (including a few flat rides that were recently installed near the very back of Old Town). The park's newest attraction, Mine Blower, has already become one of the icons of this family entertainment center, and its thrilling nature will certainly satisfy even Guests who enjoyed other major coasters found in the area's theme parks.

Fire Alarm Testing at Disney's BoardWalk Resort July 27-Aug. 5

Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort should note that the Reedy Creek Fire Department has scheduled fire alarm checks throughout Disney’s BoardWalk Resort from Thursday, July 27, through Saturday, August 5, with the exception of Sunday, July 30. These tests will include all audible and visual fire alarms and will occur randomly during the hours of 10 a.m.–4 p.m. This will only be a test, and no evacuation will be necessary unless otherwise indicated by Cast Members.

Walt Disney World Officially Lifts August Annual Pass Blockout Dates

As a surprise and delight moment, the Walt Disney World Resort officially announced that Silver Annual Passes are no longer blocked out August 1-10 and Weekday Select Annual Passes are no longer blocked out August 1-4 and August 7-10. Thanks to this adjustment, all Walt Disney World Annual Passholders will be given the chance to experience The Great Movie Ride and Ellen’s Energy Adventure prior to their scheduled closures on Aug. 13.

New Grand Avenue Area Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

As part of the multi-year reimagining of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the area adjacent to Muppet Courtyard will reopen this fall as Grand Avenue. Inspired by present-day Downtown Los Angeles, Grand Avenue captures the spirit of that city with facades of trendy shops, lofts, restaurants, and other businesses utilizing former office buildings and warehouses that have been converted over the last couple of decades. Grand Avenue serves as a place of recreation and relaxation.

Rex Jackson Named General Manager of LEGOLAND Florida Resort

Rex Jackson, an award-winning marketing and sales executive who helped lead LEGOLAND Florida Resort from a single theme park into a multi-day vacation destination, has been named the resort’s general manager. Jackson joined the resort in 2014 as vice president of marketing and sales and will begin his new role Aug. 1, succeeding Adrian Jones. Jackson inherits responsibility for the day-to-day operation and strategic direction of the sprawling vacation resort, which opened in 2011.

Veterinary Treatment Room Reopens at Disney's Animal Kingdom

The animal hospital and treatment room in Rafiki’s Planet Watch, viewable by Guests through an expansive glass window, has reopened at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Several enhancements have been made during the refurbishment, including replacing the glass in the viewing window with leaded glass, so technicians can scan and X-ray animals in Guest view. Be sure to stop by Rafiki’s Planet Watch to enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at how the park takes care of the animals.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort Update: A Look Inside a Renovated Room

In our previous update focusing on Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, we pointed out that many of the rooms on the first floor of Disney's Yacht Club Resort are currently unavailable as they are being renovated. Last week we had the chance to check out one of the refurbished rooms (we were actually the very first Guests to enter the room since it closed), located near the new Market at Ale & Compass. As you will see in the following photos, the new rooms have a quite different look.

Dragon Challenge Closing on September 5 to Make Way for New Ride

Earlier today, the Universal Orlando Resort finally confirmed a rumor that has been floating around the web for years: a new generation of thrill ride will replace Dragon Challenge (the two inverted coasters formerly known ad Dueling Dragons) at Universal’s Islands of Adventure in 2019. While the details about this mysterious new attraction are still very scarce, Universal Orlando confirmed that the ride will be unlike anything they’ve ever done before and it will be fun for the entire family.

Local Foods Café Now Serving Breakfast at Animal Kingdom

Local Foods Café, the quick service location at the Yak & Yeti restaurant (found in Asia at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park), recently began offering breakfast in addition to lunch and dinner. The new menu includes a variety of meat and egg sandwiches, a breakfast burrito, and breakfast tacos. Kids meals are also available. Breakfast will be served from 9-10:30 a.m. daily and will not be offered for Extra Magic Hours. Continue reading to check out the full menu.

United World Soccer Store Becomes Pelé Soccer at Disney Springs

As previously announced, United World Soccer has joined forces with soccer legend, Pelé, to bring the greatest soccer player of all time and the latest and greatest soccer gear together at Disney Springs. The rebranded soccer retail experience offers jerseys from clubs and countries around the world, footwear, and accessories along with Pelé’s iconic jerseys from his time playing for Brazil, Santos and the New York Cosmos. Pelé’s World Cup trophy is also on display in the store.

Universal Studios Update: More Fast & Furious Facade Details

It feels weird not seeing a lot of construction walls around Universal Studios Florida and the rest of the resort. In fact, multiple construction projects were taking place at once around both theme parks, while now we can only see the new Fast & Furious: Supercharged attraction taking shape in the San Francisco area of the park. Of course, things are about to change, as work on the new Super Nintendo World should start later this year, and Dragon Challenge is rumored to be closing soon.

New Pool Bar Lounge Area Opens at Disney's All-Star Music Resort

Guests visiting Disney's All-Star Music Resort now have the chance to relax in a new lounge area that recently opened at the Singing Spirits Pool Bar. At this new lounge (which is open nightly from 5:30 p.m. – 1 a.m.) Guests can sit back and enjoy drinks from the pool bar menu. In addition to that, a selection of appetizers will also be available at the Singing Spirits Pool Bar in the near future. Mobile Order Coming to Pinocchio Village Haus and Pecos Bill

Mobile Order will be expanding availability to Pinocchio Village Haus beginning July 24 and Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Café beginning July 25. Using the My Disney Experience app, Mobile Order allows Guests to select menu items, customize their order and pre-pay for their meal. When they arrive at the restaurant they tap an “I’m here” button in the app, which notifies the kitchen to prepare the meal. When ready, Guests are alerted through the app to pick up their meal at a designated window.

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Pricing Adjustments (2017)

Culinary Demonstrations and Beverage Seminars for the 2017 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival provide unique opportunities for Guests to hear and learn first-hand from culinary experts. This year, the price of these events will increase from $15 including tax, to $17, plus tax. The Culinary Demonstrations will focus on enhanced dishes and will no longer be paired with a wine sample; additionally, Guests attending Beverage Seminars will receive larger sample pours.

SeaWorld Pass Members Get 50% Off Busch Gardens Tickets

Marketplace Fun Finds Closed July 24- Aug. 2 at Disney Springs

For the future enjoyment of Guests visiting the Marketplace at Disney Springs, sections of Once Upon a Toy will undergo a refurbishment beginning July 31. To make way for this refurbishment, Star Wars merchandise will be relocated to Marketplace Fun Finds. As a result, Marketplace Fun Finds will be unavailable from July 24 to August 2 as Disney refits and renames the location. The merchandise currently available in that store will be moved to other Disney Springs locations.

Animal Kingdom Update: Exploring Pandora and the Rest of the Park

Since Pandora: The World of AVATAR officially opened at Disney's Animal Kingdom back in May, we didn't spend a lot of time visiting the rest of this amazing theme park (last time we came to the park we waited for hours to ride AVATAR Flight of Passage, so we decided to head home right after we rode the attraction). While we certainly enjoyed taking in all the sounds and sights around Animal Kingdom, we didn't notice any visible changes this time. The entire park looks great, though.

Cart Now Serving Local Craft Beers at Universal Studios Florida

A snack cart located in the New York City-themed area of Universal Studios Florida now serves four different local craft beers: Miami Weiss Hefeweizen, Orange Blossom Pilsner, Jai Alai IPA, Deep Roots Amber Ale, and Deep Roots Amber Ale (the cart also sells a variety of snacks including chips, corn dogs, nachos, and more). “Extra” Extra Magic Hour Coming to Disney California Adventure

The new attraction at Disney California Adventure Park, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, has left many Guests wanting an encore ride. For a limited-time, Disneyland Resort hotel Guests will be able to enjoy an “Extra” Extra Magic Hour to ride Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! one hour after Disney California Adventure Park closes, on select days. That means extra time to help Rocket free his friends from the clutches of the Collector’s Fortress!

The Seas with Nemo & Friends Closing Early Today at Epcot

Guests visiting Epcot this evening should be aware that The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilion (including the ride, Turtle Talk with Crush, and aquarium) will close at 7 p.m. this evening for a private event. As a reminder, other Future World attractions regularly close at 7 p.m. each evening (except on Extra Magic Hours evenings) including  Living with the Land, Circle of Life, Journey Into Imagination, Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival, Innoventions, and Ellen's Energy Adventure.

New Copper Creek Villas & Cabins Now Open at Wilderness Lodge

Earlier today, the brand-new Copper Creek Villas & Cabins officially opened to Guests at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Located just around the river bend from Magic Kingdom Park, and inspired by the legendary mining and railroad history of the Pacific Northwest, Members and Guests at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins will marvel at the fun Disney touches, including artwork that pays homage to the Carolwood Pacific railroad and railway beams that accent the area above the kitchen spaces.

Toy Story Land to Open in Summer 2018 at Hollywood Studios

Yesterday afternoon, Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts announced that the new Toy Story Land will open next summer at Disney's Hollywood Studios. In 2018, Guests visiting the land will find themselves shrunk to the size of a toy to explore the world of Andy’s backyard with some of their favorite Toy Story characters, including Woody and Buzz. And Toy Story Land will feature two new themed attractions: Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers.

New Indoor Theater Coming to Main Street at Magic Kingdom Park

A new venue for world-class entertainment is coming to Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom Park in Florida. And a first look at the new theater was just unveiled minutes ago at D23 Expo 2017. The facade of the theater will look familiar to some because the new entertainment venue will be based on the iconic Willis Wood theater in 1920s Kansas City, where Walt lived after he left Marceline. And as you can see from the design (see the artwork below), it’ll fit well right off Main Street, U.S.A.

Guardians of the Galaxy Ride Coming to Future World at Epcot

A “Guardians of the Galaxy”-inspired attraction will be added to Future World before 2021, adhering to the original vision of Epcot’s Future World as the place to experience the excitement and adventure offered by space travel. Epcot’s brand new E-ticket attraction will be based on the rockin’ and action-packed world of “Guardians of the Galaxy” and is the next step in how guests can encounter these characters at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney Cruise Line Unveils Plans to Build Three New Ships by 2023

Disney fans attending D23 in Anaheim got a huge surprise today, as they were the first to hear that Disney Cruise Line is planning three new ships in the next phase of expansion. That means more families than ever before will be visiting spectacular destinations around the globe! Last year, Disney confirmed that two new ships were going to be built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany with scheduled completion dates of 2021 and 2023. This additional ship will be completed in 2022.

New "Ratatouille" Ride Coming to the France Pavilion at Epcot

An attraction inspired by Disney•Pixar's animated movie “Ratatouille” will be added to the France Pavilion in World Showcase. The attraction will expand the pavilion without replacing any existing offering. Similar to the 4-D attraction Ratatouille: The Adventure that opened at the Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris in 2014, guests will be able to shrink to Remy’s size and scurry to safety in a chase across a kitchen with the sights, sounds, and smells of Gusteau’s legendary restaurant.

Walt Disney World Unveils Plans for New Star Wars-Themed Resort

Earlier today, Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, confirmed that a Star Wars-inspired resort will debut as part of the new Disney 360 vacation concept. According to Bob, this revolutionary new vacation experience will be a living adventure that allows guests to immerse themselves in an entirely new form of Disney storytelling. “It’s unlike anything that exists today.” Bob said. “From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story."

Disney Skyliner, New Minnie Vans Coming to Walt Disney World

A brand-new transportation system is coming to the Walt Disney World Resort to add even more magic to your future vacation experiences. Bob Chapek just announced that the Disney Skyliner will give Guests a bird’s-eye view of Walt Disney World Resort, connecting Disney’s Art of Animation, Pop Century, and Caribbean Beach resorts and other locations with Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot. And many of the gondolas with Disney Skyliner will feature favorite Disney characters.

New Tron Roller Coaster Coming to the Magic Kingdom Park by 2021

TRON Lightcycle Power Run – the highest-rated attraction at Shanghai Disneyland – is coming to the Walt Disney World Resort! The attraction will sit in an entirely new area right next to the Space Mountain attraction at Magic Kingdom Park. Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, made the announcement during a special presentation at the D23 Expo. TRON Lightcycle Power Run is a coaster-style attraction where riders board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles.

New Space-Themed Restaurant Coming to Future World at Epcot

Just minutes ago, the Walt Disney World Resort unveiled exciting plans to create a new restaurant at Epcot that will offer amazing meals with spectacular views high above Earth – from space! The restaurant, which will be located adjacent to the park’s Mission: SPACE attraction, will invite guests to travel into space for amazing dining experiences in the stars. Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald shared a first look at the restaurant during the Disney Parks and Resorts presentation at the D23 Expo.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Coming to Hollywood Studios

A new attraction featuring international icon Mickey Mouse is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort! Details for the first Mickey-themed ride-through attraction, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, were just unveiled during the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts presentation at D23 Expo 2017. On Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Guests will be able to step through the movie screen and join Mickey and his friends like never before.

LIVE Updates from the Parks & Resorts Panel at the D23 Expo

After hearing countless of rumors about all of the amazing new attractions that might be coming to the Walt Disney World Resort in the not-so-distant-future, theme park fans are eagerly waiting to see what is actually going to be confirmed during the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. World of Disney Restrooms Refurbishment Starting Monday, July 17

Disney Springs Guests should keep in mind that the World of Disney restrooms will be closed for refurbishment beginning July 17. This work is expected to be complete in two weeks, reopening July 31. During this time, Guests visiting this enormous store will be directed to the restrooms located by the Lime Garage. In addition to that, please note that the "Silhouette" cart temporarily closed earlier today (July 15). The kiosk is expected to return to the Marketplace in two weeks.
