Rey Joins "Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away" at Hollywood Studios

Just a few days ago, the “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away” stage show returned to Disney's Hollywood Studios after a brief hiatus. This show, presented several times a day in the park’s Center Stage area, brings to life iconic moments from the Star Wars saga with compelling film clips and appearances by favorite Star Wars characters from Darth Vader to Chewbacca. It's a nice way to celebrate all things Star Wars and the unforgettable memories from the entire galactic saga.

New Shopping Card Promotion Kicks Off July 13 at Disney Springs

Beginning July 13, Guests who purchase a limited-edition $100 Shopping Card for Disney owned and operated merchandise locations at World of Disney (located at Disney Springs) will receive an additional $25 bonus Shopping Card to be used on future visits, redeemable beginning the following day. Both cards are redeemable at Disney owned and operated merchandise locations at Disney Springs, Earport and Magic of Disney at Orlando International Airport, and Shop Disney Parks (app).

Updated Show Scene Coming to Pirates of the Caribbean in 2018

Walt Disney and his original team of storytellers started a tradition of making changes to create exciting new experiences for Guests, and that practice lives on through today’s Imagineers. Following this tradition of “change,” Disney officially announced that when the popular Pirates of the Caribbean attraction reopens after its regular refurbishment next year, Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom Park Guests will encounter some familiar character playing a variety of new roles.

SeaWorld Introduces New "Electric Ocean" Event This Summer

When the sun goes down, the night comes to life during SeaWorld Orlando’s all-new Electric Ocean celebration. The evening event transforms the park into an imaginative and immersive undersea world that glows, entertains and excites. Families come together for a fun-filled and unique dance party at Club Sea Glow, featuring world-class DJs and 35 live performers. Specialty acts, puppeteers and entertainers interact with guests throughout the evening, creating an outdoor night club.

New Turnstile Area Coming to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

Work on a new main entrance turnstile area has begun near the globe at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Phase one (that will take place through Friday, July 7) will involve new permanent and temporary concrete sidewalks being poured as well as permanent fencing near the secondary box office. Most of this activity will be done at night to avoid impacting Guests. Work on phase two of the turnstile area will begin on Monday, July 17 after AAU Track and Field.

Extra Magic Hours to Be Offered After July 4 at Animal Kingdom

Since the opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar, amny Walt Disney World Resort Guests have been enjoying nightly Extra “Extra” Magic Hours within the land. This unique offering will continue to be offered through mid-August, giving our Guests dedicated time to experience the new land. From July 5-August 19, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will operate 9 a.m.-10 p.m. daily, with dedicated Extra “Extra” Magic Hours nightly from 10 p.m.-midnight within Pandora – The World of Avatar.

Disney Shares More Details on Hall of Presidents Refurbishment

Whenever an attraction in one of Walt Disney World's theme parks closes for refurbishment, some changes may be introduced to enhance the experience. For this reason, The Hall of Presidents (the Audio-Animatronic show that closed for an extensive refurbishment back in January at the Magic Kingdom Park) will get a new show and a complete theater upgrade - including a brand-new sound system, lighting, and high-definition projection system - when it reopens to park Guests this fall.

LEGOLAND Extending Discount for Awesomer Annual Pass Members

Time’s running out for Awesomer Annual Pass Members to renew their pass at a special discounted rate of $99 plus tax. Current Awesomer Annual Pass Members whose passes are within the 60-day renewal window (30 days before expiration and 30 days after) can save $50 when they renew through Friday, June 30. Meanwhile, current Awesome Annual Pass Members can upgrade to the even-better Awesomer Pass when they renew at the same $99 rate during this special promotion.

Lilo's Playhouse Offering New Service at the Polynesian Resort

Starting from Sunday, July 2, Lilo’s Playhouse (located at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort) will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., daily. A variety of activities will be available for Guests and their families, including video games, movies, arts and crafts, and much more. Beginning at 4:30 p.m. daily, Lilo’s Playhouse will transition to a child drop-off location where the center will offer different children’s activity programs for a fee. Pleasure Island Drinks Available at Disney Springs from June 29

Beginning June 29, Dockside Margaritas will be celebrating Throwback Thursday! Guests can enjoy 11 different cocktails and non-alcoholic beverage favorites from Pleasure Island throughout the summer, available daily until Sept. 28. To sweeten the deal on Thursdays, drinks will be offered at special "throwback" prices. Each week, four different beverages will be highlighted on the menu. Kraken Unleashed Officially Opens at SeaWorld Orlando (VIDEO)

On June 16, one of SeaWorld Orlando's best roller coasters reopened with a new addition that is going to delight many thrill seekers. The newly-renamed Kraken Unleashed now features virtual reality headsets to further immerse park Guests into the mysterious world of the Kraken, a squid-like creature that inhabits the deepest part of the ocean. As you'll see in the video below, the images seen while wearing the headset match the twists and turns of this amazing attraction.

Road Adjustments to Impact Select Disney Guests on July 3-4

On Monday, July 3, and Tuesday, July 4, both lanes of Seven Seas Drive will be one-way, westbound only from 5–9 p.m. All traffic, including buses, going to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort will be directed to stay right of the cones, while Guests heading to Floridian Way (both northbound and southbound) should stay left of the cones. Disney Security will be stationed at the Seven Seas Drive crosswalk to assist Guests. Note that roads may be more congested during these times.

"Eat to the Beat" Concert Series Returns to Epcot This Fall

A record 32 musical acts will rev up the Eat to the Beat concert series during the 22nd Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Aug. 31-Nov. 13. Eleven new-to-the-festival bands, including Kenny G., Squeeze and 10,000 Maniacs, join 21fan-favorite musical acts for a diverse lineup of pop hit makers to rock America Gardens Theatre stage throughout the festival’s 75-day run. Other new acts to appear are: The Hooters, Baha Men, Lauren Alaina, Mark Wills, American Authors, and more.

The Universal Orlando Resort is an ever-changing destination that never stops adding more offerings that Guests can enjoy during their visit. Walt Disney World Resort Uses Food Waste to Create Electricity

Did you know that food waste is creating electricity for Walt Disney World's theme parks and resorts? Located on Walt Disney World property near Disney's Animal Kingdom, "Harvest Power" uses award-winning Waste Recycling Technology to turn organic waste from the 50 million visitors that come to Central Florida each year into clean, renewable energy! From soup to coffee grounds, Harvest Power uses anaerobic digesters to power lights found on property and create natural bulk fertilizers.

Personalized Coca-Cola Cans Available at Epcot June 24-25

On Saturday and Sunday (June 24-25, 2017), Coca-Cola will give Walt Disney World Resort Guests an opportunity to receive complimentary, personalized cans of Coke. A “Share a Coke” kiosk will be open at Epcot from 10:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. in the Innoventions West hallway located behind Club Cool. A very similar offering was available to Epcot Guests last year in that area of the park. Note that the Walt Disney World Resort will not be advertising this limited-time event to Guests.

Aquatica Orlando Hosts World's Largest Swimming Lesson

Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark hosted the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson on Thursday, June 22. Guests helped set a world record and participated in a swimming lesson instructed by Aquatica lifeguards. U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame member and three-time Olympic gold medalist, Ambrose “Rowdy” Gaines was onsite to lend a helping hand with the lesson and meet participants. Each park Guest that participated received a special certificate upon completion.

Yacht & Beach Club Update: Grab & Go Location Opens (PART 1)

Disney's Yacht Club Resort is currently in the midst of a major refurbishment that include reimagined Guest rooms, new food & beverage locations, more retail offerings, and other minor updates. As you will see, many of the rooms located on the bottom floor of this beautifully-themed hotel are currently closed, while the new Market at Ale & Compass recently opened near the hotel's lobby. Let's walk around the resort (as well as the Beach Club and DVC villas) to see what's new.

Madame Tussauds Orlando Unveils New Justin Bieber Figure

Justin Bieber’s wax figure was officially unveiled on June 21, 2017 during a special event at Madame Tussauds Orlando. One of the hottest stars in the world, thanks to chart-topping hits including “Sorry,” “Despacito,” and “Love Yourself,” the award-winning singer-songwriter’s newest figure arrived just in time for National Selfie Day. At the unveiling, local fans had the opportunity to take the first official selfies with Justin’s wax likeness. The figure was installed in the attraction’s Music Zone

Walt Disney World and Orlando Magic Extend Sponsorship

The Walt Disney World Resort will soon become the first jersey sponsor of the Orlando Magic.
Starting with the 2017-18 NBA season, the Disney logo will be added on players’ jerseys. “With Orlando as our hometown, magic has always been a key strand of our DNA,” said Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins. “This expanded agreement with Disney brings our story full circle and represents the coming together of two dynamic organizations that have become synonymous with Orlando.”

RUMOR: New Resort to Be Built Next to The Swan & Dolphin

The Swan & Dolphin hotels are undoubtedly very unique resorts. While they are not owned by the Walt Disney Company, these resorts were built in an excellent location, being just steps away from Disney's BoardWalk Resort, Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf, as well as two of the world's busiest theme parks: Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
These hotels are already very large, but it looks like a new resort may join them in the near future.

On-Ride Video of New "Mine Blower" Roller Coaster Released

One of Fun Spot America's most thrilling attractions will open in just three days! The brand-new "Mine Blower" is a hybrid roller coaster that features banked turns (with the max banking at 115 degrees), an inversion (this is currently the only wooden roller coaster in Florida to go upside down) and crazy airtime! While the coaster officially opens on June 23, you can virtually ride the coaster today thanks to the on-ride video published by The Gravity Group (the company that designed and built the ride).

Cast Members Can Purchase Arcade Games from DisneyQuest

Beginning July 4 at 7 a.m. through July 6 at 9 a.m., Disney Cast Members will have the opportunity to take home a piece of nostalgia by purchasing arcade games from the iconic indoor interactive theme park through an online auction. Cast Members will be able to bid online on more than 100 arcade games, including favorites like Ms. PacMan, Typhoon, and Guitar Hero. Minimum bids start as low as $100 and may go as high as $10,000. A portion of all proceeds will support local charities.

Disney Dining Plans to Feature More Beverage Options in 2018

Based on Guest feedback, the Disney Dining Plans included with 2018 Magic Your Way vacation packages will be expanded, offering more beverage options for Guests to choose from when enjoying quick-service and table-service meals. New options include non-alcoholic premium beverages – like frozen specialty beverages, teas, and specialty coffees – and the majority of alcoholic beverages (available to Guests age 21 and over) served at participating restaurants.

I-Drive 360 Update: Exploring the Sea Life Aquarium

I-Drive 360 is a great place to spend a few hours when there's not enough time - or energy - to visit a theme park. In addition to the Coca-Cola Orlando Eye, Madame Tussauds (click here to check out our latest photo-update), and Sea Life Aquarium, there are a lot of minor attractions and exhibits to enjoy, including the Skeletons: Unveiled! museum, Arcade City, and multiple shops and restaurants.
This afternoon we will take a quick look around I-Drive 360 and the Sea Life Aquarium. Enjoy!

More Changes Affecting the FASTPASS Service at Disneyland

Changes are coming to the FASTPASS system at the Disneyland Resort this week in preparation for the launch of the new Disney MaxPass (which will be similar - but not identical - to Walt Disney World's FastPass+ system). Starting from June 21, all Guests will need to scan their admission ticket to access the FASTPASS line at eligible attractions instead of their FASTPASS ticket. Guests should continue to retrieve their paper FASTPASS tickets to reserve a return time and serve as a reminder.

Disney's Vero Beach Resort Receives AAA 4-Diamond Rating

Disney's Vero Beach Resort recently received a coveted four-diamond rating from AAA, an honor that goes to fewer than six percent of the nearly 28,000 hotels that are officially approved by AAA (many vacationers rely on their diamond rating system to help them choose which resort is the best option for them). According to AAA, "A Four Diamond hotel is refined and stylish, providing upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail."

Universal Orlando Unveils New Universal Studios Florida Logo

Universal Orlando recently unveiled a brand-new logo for Universal Studios Florida. The updated logo looks very similar to the new Universal Orlando Resort logo and reflects the company's ever-evolving brand. The new logo will be rolled out in phases over time; for this reason, Guests visiting the resort or reading material about the park while this transition is taking place will see both the updated and legacy (former) versions of Universal Studio Florida’s logo as the old one gets phased out. 

FuelRod Kiosks Available at More Walt Disney World Hotels

Themed FuelRod kiosks are becoming available in several resorts across Walt Disney World. These kiosks dispense portable charging batteries, allowing Guests to charge their mobile devices while continuing to enjoy their Disney experience. Each portable charging battery set costs $30 plus tax. When a portable charging battery purchased at a FuelRod kiosk on property is depleted, Guests can swap it for a fully charged battery at no additional cost at any FuelRod kiosk.

Disney Reveals Titles of New Short Films Coming Soon to Epcot

As previously announced, when Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival reopens at Epcot on Monday, June 19, two new Academy award-winning Pixar shorts will join the lineup. "Feast," a heart-warming story that follows the culinary adventures of a Boston Terrier named Winston, and "Piper," a short film about a hungry baby sandpiper learning to overcome her fear of the ocean, will be shown along with the classic Disney short film, "Get a Horse." Be sure to check them out during your next visit!

New Photo Capture Coming Soon to Pirates of the Caribbean

Starting from June 19, Disney PhotoPass Service will be added to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Magic Kingdom to capture whether a pirate’s life is for you, or if you’re more likely to strike your colors and run up a white flag! As Guests prepare to exit the skeleton grotto (right before the drop) and dive into the Golden Age of Piracy, a Disney PhotoPass camera will capture the perfect treasure of your swashbuckling voyage. A talking skeleton will warn you before the photo's taken!

SeaWorld Update: Getting Ready for Electric Ocean (PART 1)

Guests planning on visiting SeaWorld Orlando this summer will be able to enjoy plenty of new offerings. As an example, the reimagined Kraken roller coaster will officially debut in just a few days, featuring VR headsets, creating an entirely new visual experience that solidifies the backstory of this already thrilling attraction. But that's not all! A refurbished Dolphin Nursery, new nighttime experiences, a waterfront bar, a new bubble show, and much more await park Guests later this year!

Mobile Order Coming to Flame Tree Barbecue on June 20

In the coming months, the new "Mobile Order" system will be expanding availability to multiple locations across the Walt Disney World Resort, including five Magic Kingdom restaurants. At Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Guests will be able to order their food using the My Disney Experience app and then pick up their meal at a designated window at the popular Flame Tree Barbecue restaurant (located on Discovery Island) beginning Tuesday, June 20.

New "Frozen Ever After Dessert Party" Coming to Epcot in July

Beginning July 17, Guests will have a delicious new way to experience IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. Reservations open today for the coolest new experience, the Frozen Ever After Dessert Party. This brand-new offering includes reserved seating to an amazing fireworks spectacular, delicious desserts, snacks, and beverages inspired by the film "Frozen," and a special opportunity to enjoy the Frozen Ever After attraction after the park closes to the general public.

Madame Tussauds Update: New Photo-Opportunity and More

Madame Tussauds in undoubtedly one of Orlando's most interesting minor attractions.
While there are plenty of theme parks, amusement parks, and interactive exhibits, Madame Tussauds focuses almost solely on creating fun photo-opportunities where Guests have the chance to get close to realistic wax figures representing famous individuals that accomplished something in the past or that are relevant figures in our era. Let's check out this attraction to see what's new.

"Cars 3" Button to Be Distributed to Guests at Hollywood Studios

In celebration of the theatrical release of Disney•Pixar “Cars 3” on Friday, June 16, all Guests entering Disney’s Hollywood Studios will receive a button at the main entrance of the park. In addition to that, a new character greeting location will soon open in the park, as Cruz Ramirez ( a character from "Cars 3") will begin greeting Guests on Pixar Place on June 16. At this time, it is unknown whether this temporary meet-and-greet will be available to Guests all summer long or only a few weeks.

Disney's Water Parks Closing Two Hours Early on June 15-16

Guests currently visiting the Walt Disney World Resort should be advised that Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park will be changing their operating hours to 10:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. on Thursday June 15, and Friday June 16 (both parks were originally scheduled to close at 7 p.m.).  Disney’s Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Courses will be open for normal business hours. Stay tuned on OTPN for any additional updates.

Work on New StarFlyer Attraction to Begin Soon at Vue at 360

International Drive has been one of the most exciting entertainment hubs in Central Florida for many years, but things have been getting better and better, especially since the new I-Drive 360 opened in the former location of The Mercado. After this entertainment complex opened, other new attractions were confirmed to be coming to the area, including the SkyPlex and Vue at 360. This evening we will be focusing on the latter, which will soon be home to one of the largest SkyFlyer attractions in the world. Let's take a look around.

SeaWorld Orlando Celebrates First-Ever Walrus Birth at the Park

A whiskered walrus baby was welcomed to SeaWorld Orlando on June 3, when a 14-year old female, Kaboodle, gave birth to her first calf just after midnight. Kaboodle and her baby immediately began to bond and the pair remain close at all times, even snuggling with each other as they sleep. Throughout her pregnancy the park’s animal husbandry and veterinary teams provided extensive pre-natal care and regular ultrasounds. The new arrival has already brought great joy to the teams.

Work Taking Place at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort should be aware that the fitness center at Senses — A Disney Spa at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa closed for flooring replacement work earlier today. The fitness center is expected to reopen no later than Friday, June 16. During this closure, Guests staying at the resort may visit the temporary fitness center at Salon 9, which is located in the Convention Center of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

New Shorts Coming to the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival

The Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival (a 4-D attraction found in the Imagination! pavilion at Epcot) closed for updates today, June 12. When it reopens on Sunday, June 18, it will still include “Get a Horse,” but two new Pixar shorts will be shown in place of “La Luna” and “For the Birds.” More details will be shared soon. In addition to that, be aware that Mission: SPACE, Advanced Training Lab, and Mission: SPACE Cargo Bay are also closed for refurbishment. They will re-open later this summer.

Universal Studios Update: Supercharged Construction (Part 1)

Universal Studios Florida is already an amazing theme park, featuring dozens of fast-paced attractions and great entertainment offerings. That being said, we still have a lot to look forward to, as the new Fast & Furious: Supercharged attraction is just a piece of the puzzle. If the Super Nintendo World plans that were leaked today are real (we won't post a link to them as they may have been shared without permission), the park is going to become even more spectacular in the future. Let's take a look around.

Disney Parks Will Donate Up to $1 Million to Restore Habitats

To celebrate the grand opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and the Disney Conservation Fund recently announced "Connect to Protect," a commitment of up to $1 million to help protect and restore habitats critical to 10 endangered animals. The contributions can be unlocked by Guests who participate in conservation ‘missions’ while exploring the immersive land of Pandora (they can even choose which animal that donation will support).

Temporary Pedestrian Bridge Coming to Coronado Springs

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is in the middle of a major construction project that will end with the opening of a 15-story tower that will add 500 new rooms and other offerings. To allow for easier access during the reimagining of the resort, a temporary pedestrian bridge will open along Lago Dorado, which is located in the middle of the resort. Anticipated to open June 13, this pedestrian bridge will provide a new path of travel between El Centro and Cabanas. Signage will be posted to direct Guests.
