Two New Shows Officially Debut at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Anew cinematic nighttime experience, “Disney Movie Magic,” has debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, transforming the park’s iconic Chinese Theater with state-of-the-art projection mapping technology to put Guests in the middle of a celebration of films from the Disney family of studios. “Disney Movie Magic” highlights memorable movie moments from Disney classics like “Mary Poppins” to contemporary blockbusters such as “Pirates of the Caribbean,” the Indiana Jones adventures and more.

Updated Epcot Guidemaps Now Available to Park Guests

Updated Epcot guidemaps are now available around the Walt Disney World Resort.
The new park maps feature "Frozen Ever After" on the front cover (the English maps, as well as all five translations and the Guide for Guests with Disabilities have all been updated). In addition to that, with the end of the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, a new times guide is now available, which can be viewed on the Walt Disney World Times Guides page (the page is updated weekly, usually on Sundays).

SeaWorld Update: Infinity Falls Construction Continues (Part 1)

The past few weeks have been incredibly exciting for some of Orlando's theme parks.
A completely new water park opened at the Universal Orlando Resort, a jaw-dropping land opened at Disney's Animal Kingdom, and an amazing fireworks show debuted at Magic Kingdom. That being said, there are still plenty of new attractions that will open in Central Florida later this year, including a reimagined Dolphin Nursery and Kraken: Unleashed, both of which will debut at SeaWorld Orlando. Let's see what else is new.

SeaWorld Update: Infinity Falls Construction Continues (Part 2)

Welcome to the second part of our latest SeaWorld Orlando photo-report. As always, we encourage you to check out PART 1 of this update to enjoy more photos. In the previous section, we checked out the work being done around the reimagined Dolphin Nursery as well as the new waterfront bar and other miscellaneous additions and changes. We'll now focus on the future Infinity Falls ride and Kraken: Unleashed. There are plenty of new additions that SeaWorld Guests can look forward to enjoy.

First Look at the Interior of Wine Bar George at Disney Springs

Opening in late 2017, Master Sommelier George Miliotes will bring his expertise to the eponymous bar that will feature wines from many famed growing regions in the United States and abroad – more than 100 different selections by the bottle and glass.
Miliotes describes the new Wine Bar George as a “comfortable-yet-lively environment that’s reminiscent of a renovated winery.” The design for the 6,000-square-foot space features wood ceilings, concrete floors, warm lighting and a welcoming atmosphere.

Narcoossee's Exterior Painting Starts at Grand Floridian Resort

Guests staying at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in the coming weeks should know that on Tuesday, May 30, work will begin to paint the exterior of Narcoossee’s.
As a result, views across the Seven Seas Lagoon will be obstructed. During this time, Guests that have dinner reservations will be directed to Narcoossee’s Landing where they will be able to enjoy private viewing of the Happily Ever After fireworks. The work being done on the exterior of the restaurant is expected to be completed in mid-June.

Minnie’s Summertime Dine Returning to Hollywood Studios

Starting from June 5, Minnie Mouse is inviting all of her friends to Hollywood & Vine (a restaurant located at Disney's Hollywood Studios), where she's hosting a summertime beach party celebration. This character dining experience features Minnie Mouse and friends dressed for fun in the sun. The buffet features fried shrimp and chips, peach-glazed barbeque pork, as well as spinach and arugula strawberry salad. Guests can also dive into decadent desserts like passion fruit tarts and blueberry lemon cupcakes.

Universal's Volcano Bay Water Park Officially Opens to Guests

Universal’s Volcano Bay is finally open. On Thursday, May 25, The park’s first guests gathered today inside the new water theme park to enjoy an authentic, South Pacific dedication ceremony commemorating the opening of the park. The unique ceremony featured special performances by an array of authentic Maori entertainment, ranging from water dancers to “Haka” war dancers. The moment culminated with an eruption from the mighty 200 ft. Krakatau volcano – the park’s stunning icon.

Restaurantosaurus Offering Breakfast May 27-June 10, 2017

For a limited time only, Guests visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom will be able to enjoy quick-service breakfast options at Restaurantosaurus in DinoLand U.S.A. The location will open at the same time the park opens to Guests (including on Extra Magic Hours mornings) and serve breakfast until 10 a.m. from Saturday, May 27, through Saturday, June 10. The location will serve up Mickey waffle platters for both adults and children, breakfast cereals with milk, yogurt parfaits, fruit cups, and more.

United World Soccer to Become Pelé Soccer at Disney Springs

The United World Soccer shop (located in the West Side at Disney Springs) is taking on the name of a sports superstar as it gets rebranded as the new Pelé Soccer store.
Selling official gear from some of the world’s most popular clubs and countries as well as unique, soccer classics you will only be able to find at Disney Springs, Pelé Soccer will become one of the world’s most iconic soccer retail experience. The rebranding of the location is expected to take place this summer. Sty tuned on OTPN for updates.

Busch Gardens Tampa Reimagines Summer Nights Event

Guests will be able to party louder and play later at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay during the reimagined Summer Nights event, featuring park-wide party zones, thrill rides in the dark, summer cuisine, and a new summer ice show at the Moroccan Palace, Turn It Up! The event is included with park admission and kicks off June 16 running through August 6. During the Summer Nights event, Busch Gardens Tampa will be open until 9 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays, and until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Walt Disney World Dedicates Pandora – The World of AVATAR

Even though Pandora – The World of Avatar officially opens to all Guests on May 27, Animal Kingdom held a dedication ceremony for this new land on May 24, unveiling a world where mountains float in the sky, bioluminescent plants illuminate the forest at night, and explorers can soar above the alien moon on the backs of banshees. When it opens to the public, Pandora will transport Walt Disney World Resort Guests to an all-new land beyond belief, located 4.4 light years away from Earth.

Gone Mad Party Returns to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort

Wednesdays will soon be filled with wonder, imagination, and more at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa during a whimsical party where the most nonsensical desserts and drinks make the most sense! Starting from June, the "Gone Mad Party" returns to the outdoor patio by Gasparilla Island Grill  from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Guests can enjoy food and drink offerings for purchase and a splendiferous view of Happily Ever After, the newest, most spectacular fireworks show in the history of Magic Kingdom park.

Character From "Cars 3" Coming Soon to Hollywood Studios

This summer, Cruz Ramirez will stop by Pixar Place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to meet fans on her Cars 3 Victory tour. The exact location is not known at this time, but it is likely that she will be found closer to the exit of the third track of Toy Story Mania. Cruz Ramirez one of the new characters from Disney·Pixar’s "Cars 3." As a top-notch technician at the Rust-eze Racing Center, Cruz is assigned to train the team's talented rookies. Universal's Volcano Bay officially opens to the public today! Universal Orlando’s third amazing park is filled with incredible thrills and perfected relaxation. Spanning 30 fully immersive acres and featuring a variety of experiences ranging from daring to serene, Volcano Bay will offer something for everyone, including a multi-directional wave pool with sandy beaches, a peaceful winding river, twisting multi-rider raft rides, speeding body slides that drop from the top of the volcano into the waters below, and more.

Fun Spot Update: New Wooden Coaster Station Takes Shape

The new Mine Blower wooden roller coaster that's currently under construction at Fun Spot in Kissimmee definitely looks like it's going to be an incredibly thrilling addition.
Even though pictures may not completely capture the impressive size of this brand-new attraction, we are sure many of our Readers would like to get a closer look at the parts of the track that are already in place as well as other sections that are still under construction, including the station and the barrel roll that will be located on top of it.

"Dine with an Animal Care Specialist" Start Time Changing

Beginning from Wednesday, November 22, the Dine with an Animal Care Specialist program at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge will move from a noon start time to an 11 a.m. start time. This offering, which gives participants the opportunity to interact with an animal expert while enjoying a 4-course lunch at the popular "Sanaa" restaurant in Kidani Village, is available to Walt Disney World Guests twice a week (Wednesdays and Saturdays). Guests must be at least 8 years old to be able to participate.

New Animal Kingdom Guidemaps Available Beginning May 27

Updated park maps for Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park will be available around the Walt Disney World Resort starting Saturday, May 27. The new guidemaps feature "Pandora - The World of Avator" on the cover and include updated English maps, as well as all five translations and the Guide for Guests with Disabilities. As a reminder, a special version of this new guidemap will be available exclusively at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park on May 27-28 (click here for additional information).

SeaWorld Orlando Returns Rescued Sea Turtle to the Ocean

After four months of specialized care, a 230-pound loggerhead sea turtle has returned to the ocean thanks to SeaWorld Orlando’s Rescue Team and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). The sea turtle was released this morning at Sebastian Inlet. Rescued in January, the turtle was found floating in the Indian River Lagoon near Fort Pierce. It was missing its left front flipper and covered in barnacles with visible damage on its shell. At the time of rescue, the turtle weighed 218 pounds.

Disney's Mini-Golf Courses Closed Due to Inclement Weather

It looks like the long period of drought might soon come to an end in Central Florida, as thunderstorms are slowly moving to the area. Indeed, Disney’s Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland golf courses are currently closed due to inclement weather. They will reopen when it is safe to do so. Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach have already closed for the day at 5 p.m., so this advisory doesn't affect them (at least, not today). UPDATE: As of 9 p.m., both courses have reopened to all Guests.

See a Live Stream of Volcano Bay's Grand Opening on May 25

It's hard to believe, but we are three days away from the grand opening of Universal’s Volcano Bay! To mark the event, Universal Orlando Resort will host a grand opening celebration the morning of May 25. While this event is only open to select media and VIPs, everyone is invited to virtually attend the event through a live webcast. All those who will be tuning in will get a chance to win free tickets to Volcano Bay, hear from Dale Mason, the creative genius behind this new park, ask questions, and more.

Additional Guest Relations Cast Available at Animal Kingdom

To continue to provide excellent Guest service during the opening of Pandora - The World of Avatar, additional Guest Relation Cast Members will be available throughout Disney's Animal Kingdom on select dates. From May 27-29 and June 2-4, Guests will be able to find Guest Relations Cast Members in every land in the park (with the exception of Pandora - The World of Avatar) from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. They will assist Guests by answering their questions and helping them with any issue they may have.

Springs Street Eats Food Truck Rally Coming to Disney Springs

A fun dining event is “rolling” into Disney Springs on June 2 and 3! Springs Street Eats will highlight eight food trucks – featuring some Central Florida favorites, including the Fantasy Fare and World Showcase of Flavors usually found in Exposition Park. You’ll find the trucks in the West Side neighborhood outside of Cirque du Soleil Friday, June 2 from 4-11 p.m. and Saturday, June 3 from noon-11 p.m. With live entertainment, this food truck rally is sure to be a tasty event that’s fun for the entire family.

Magic Kingdom Park Hours Extended on Saturday, May 27

In order to give Guests more time to enjoy the park's rides and attractions, operating hours at Magic Kingdom Park have been extended Saturday, May 27, until midnight.  Since the park was originally scheduled to close at 11 p.m., not all of the offerings will be available to Guests. The rides and attractions available during the additional time will be updated for Guests in the My Disney Experience app. This change may not be reflected in the Times Guide, but the signs at the entrance of the park will be updated.

New "Kingdom Cones" Ice Cream Shop Opens at LEGOLAND

On Friday, May 19, a new ice cream shop officially opened its doors to Guests at the LEGOLAND Florida Resort (construction photos can be found here). Kingdom Cones can be found next to The Forestman’s Hideout, offering an all-new, quick-service ice cream location. The menu features soft-serve chocolate and vanilla ice cream served in tasty waffle cones, plus a “swirl” combination of both great flavors. But that’s not all! Guests can add up to two flavor bursts to each cone (there are eight to choose from).

Special Edition Map Available at Animal Kingdom May 27-28

To commemorate the opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar, Guests at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will receive a special edition map on opening weekend (May 27-28).
Inspired by Alpha Centauri Expeditions’ graphics and signs in the Valley of Mo’ara, the guidemap will provide a complete overview of the theme park as well as a section dedicated to Pandora – The World of Avatar. Be sure to note that the special edition guidemap will only be available to Guests visiting the park on opening weekend.

New Allergen Guide Coming to Walt Disney World Restaurants

New allergen guides are coming this month to all buffet locations at Walt Disney World Resort (with the exception of Boma—Flavors of Africa, which will begin on June 5).
This enhancement is designed to further elevate levels of service around the resort, offering additional focus and alternatives for a growing population of Guests with food allergies and intolerances. The new allergen guides address the most common dietary allergens, including gluten/wheat, milk, egg, peanut, tree nut and fish/shellfish.

"Jungle Jack" Hanna Returning to Busch Gardens May 27-28

Guests of all ages are invited to join “Jungle Jack” Hanna at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay on May 27 and May 28 for wild animal shows, autograph signings, special meet-and-greets and more! The internationally-known animal expert will share animal facts and his travel tales during animal shows in Stanleyville Theater at 12, 2, and 4 p.m. All shows are included with any annual pass, Fun Card or paid admission. Additionally, the park will offer some interesting activities during this special weekend.

Extra Magic Hours Extend Beyond Pandora at Animal Kingdom

To help Guests maximize their visit to the newest themed land at Disney's Animal Kingdom, “Extra” Extra Magic Hours will be offered in Pandora – The World of Avatar from 11 p.m.-1 a.m., May 27-July 4. During these evening Extra Magic Hours, resort Guests will be able to enjoy atmosphere, attractions, dining, and shopping of Pandora – The World of Avatar. In addition to that, more attractions and shows found in other areas of the park will be operating May 27-29 to help disperse the crowds.

Stitch’s Great Escape to Operate Daily May 27-August 19

The Walt Disney World Resort recently confirmed that the infamous "Stitch’s Great Escape" attraction (which is located in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom Park) will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning May 27. The attraction is scheduled to return to a seasonal operation starting from August 20. Guests may also meet with the mischievous Stitch in Tomorrowland next to the Carousel of Progress starting May 21 and continuing through the summer. Stay tuned on OTPN for additional updates.

New Star Wars Display Coming to LEGOLAND Florida in 2018

As we previously hinted in our latest LEGOLAND Florida photo-report (don't forget to check it out by clicking on this link), an exciting new addition is coming to the park's Miniland area in 2018: an all-new display inspired by the worldwide blockbuster “Star Wars – Episode VII: The Force Awakens.” The new display will feature several scenes re-created with thousands of LEGO bricks, including memorable movie moments with Rey, Finn, Kylo Ren, and BB-8, enhanced with lights, sound effects and animation.

Updated Park Maps Coming to Hollywood Studios on May 26

Updated park maps will be available at Disney's Hollywood Studios beginning Friday, May 26. The guidemap will showcase Toy Story Mania! on the cover and will feature a few (minor) changes, including the addition of “The Music of Pixar LIVE! A Symphony of Characters,” a new show that will be performed all summer long at the Theater of the Stars. The English version of the park map, as well as all five translations and the Guide for Guests with Disabilities will be updated to reflect these changes.

New Connect to Protect Mobile Adventure Coming to Pandora

When Pandora – The World of Avatar officially opens at Disney's Animal Kingdom on Saturday, May 27, Guests will be able to enjoy a new interactive way to explore the immersive new land and support conservation efforts on Earth. "Connect to Protect" is a new mobile adventure that invites park Guests to participate in several conservation missions with a digital scientist while exploring the awe-inspiring Valley of Mo’ara and helping protect the habitats of at-risk animals here on Earth.

Sesame Street Themed Area Coming to SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. and Sesame Workshop just announced the extension of their 37-year partnership to include the development of an additional Sesame Place theme park in the United States and the addition of a new themed area at SeaWorld Orlando. The current Sesame Place theme park, located in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, between Philadelphia and New York City, is the only theme park in the nation based entirely on the award-winning educational program Sesame Street. 

Gasparilla Island Grill Closing For a Few Hours This Afternoon

Due to unexpected maintenance, Gasparilla Island Grill will be closed from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, May 18 at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. During this time, Cast Members will be available at each entrance to Gasparilla Island Grill to direct Guests to other dining locations for their needs. The nearby Beaches Pool Bar & Grill will be open featuring an extensive menu for quick service needs and the Courtyard Pool Bar will have grab and go menu items available. The location should reopen at 4 p.m.

Walt Disney World Introduces "Day Cruise Around the World"

Starting from Thursday, June 1, Guests will be invited to enjoy Day Cruise Around the World, a new specialty cruise offered daily at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Guests will board a pontoon boat at Bayside Marina and sail around Crescent Lake and the World Showcase Lagoon. In addition to the captain who accompanies each cruise, the boats can accommodate up to 10 Guests. Bagged snacks and soft drinks are included, but additional food and beverage options will be available through Private Dining.

Universal Shares More Details About Volcano Bay's TapuTapu

Universal’s Volcano Bay Guests will experience an entirely new level of freedom and fun as they enjoy the park with friends and family. There will be no more standing in long lines to experience an attraction. No more carrying wallets, cash or credit cards throughout the park. No more fumbling for a locker key. With Volcano Bay, Universal set out to create a water theme park entertainment experience unlike any other and it designed the waterproof TapuTapu wearable to enhance fun and remove hassles.

Magic Kingdom Update: Happily Ever After Debuts (PART 1)

This is a very exciting time for the Magic Kingdom Park. The new "Happily Eve After" show officially debuted on Friday, May 12, and it's already proving to be a hit among park Guests (we absolutely love it, but we'll share our personal thoughts on another occasion, as we plan on viewing this nighttime spectacular again in the coming days).
In addition to that, there are plenty of refurbishments that are currently taking place around the park. Join us and take a look around to see what's new since our last visit.

In the previous two parts, we walked around the majority of the park's themed lands, including Main Street, Liberty Square, Adventureland, Frontierland, and the majority of Fantasyland. Our journey may be coming to an end, but we are sure we will find even more new details during our upcoming visits. There's always something new there...

EcoClub Students Get to Feed Manatees at SeaWorld Orlando

Students from the Millennia Gardens Elementary School EcoClub were finally able to meet the animals they’ve been assisting throughout the school year. The third, fourth, and fifth grade students developed, grew and harvested a hydroponics garden at their school. After learning about SeaWorld's Manatee Rescue and Rehabilitation program, the students made the unanimous decision to donate all the lettuce from the garden to the 23 manatees that are currently found in the park, near the TurtleTrek attraction.

D-Living Store Reopens with a New Theme at Disney Springs

On Thursday, May 11, the D-Living store officially reopened to Disney Springs Guests with a new theme, celebrating all things outdoors. D-Living now offers an assortment of Disney-themed products that can be really useful on a sunny day! Guests will be able to find beach towels, cooking aprons, garden décor and plenty of outdoor-friendly utensils and dishes. The shop is also in bloom with enchanting decorations, including butterflies near the cash registers, character topiaries, and silhouettes on the walls. 

Captain’s Grille Relocating to Ariel’s at the Yacht & Beach Club

Work has begun in preparation for multiple refurbishment projects at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. To ensure Guests have a great dining experience throughout the refurbishment, some of the existing food & beverage offerings will be moved to other areas of the resort for a limited time. One of these will be Captain’s Grille, which will be relocated to Ariel’s on May 26 until fall 2017 due to refurbishment. The final day of operation for Captain’s Grille and the Ale & Compass Lounge will be May 24.

LEGOLAND Florida Update: Tour of Ninjago World (PART 1)

Florida's newest theme park continues to prove that improvements and additions can really have a big impact on Guests. Since our last visit (which took place just a couple of months ago), we noticed so many minor and major additions around LEGOLAND Florida that it forced us to divide this photo-update into four different parts (we do this because loading too many images on one page could take forever in some cases).
As you will see, there's something new in most themed areas around this great park.

LEGOLAND Florida Update: Tour of Ninjago World (PART 4)

New Mickey Mouse Cake to Be Available at Walt Disney World

Many Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort do so while celebrating a special occasion such as an anniversary, graduation, family reunion, and more. Starting from May 17, a new Mickey Mouse celebration cake will be available for Guests dining at most Disney-owned-and-operated table-service restaurants and private dining at Walt Disney World Resort. The new Mickey Mouse celebration cake is specially designed to commemorate special occasions with a predesigned congratulations message.

Sneak Preview of Cars 3 Coming Soon to Hollywood Studios

Starting from May 26, a sneak peek of Disney·Pixar’s “Cars 3” will be presented inside Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream (which is located near Voyage of the Little Mermaid at Disney's Hollywood Studios). Guests will be able to view this sneak preview as well as a display of artwork and character maquettes used in the production through June 25. Disney·Pixar’s “Cars 3” cruises into theaters in 3D on June 16. This new preview will replace the Pirates of the Caribbean sneak peek that is currently being shown.
