Progress is being made on the Star Wars-themed lands being created at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. These amazing lands will transport Guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories will come to life. Guests will also be able to take the controls of Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission, and an be in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance in two new rides.
With so much activity across the 14-acre construction sites as this new world is created, here is a look at how things are shaping up in this new video – and you may not believe what you’re looking AT-AT (please, note that the new AT-AT Walkers shown in the video are currently being built at Disneyland in California, but Guests can expect to see them also in the Disney's Hollywood Studios version of one of the two signature rides).
Here's a photo showing the structures that will soon become AT-AT Walkers (as seen in the video above):
As Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced last month, the Star Wars-themed lands are scheduled to open in 2019. There will be more exciting updates to share in the future as work progresses on these lands.
