Universal Studios Update: Tour of The Tonight Shop (PART 1)

There are few things that are better than walking around Universal Studios Florida on a slow day. Earlier today, we noticed that the majority of the attractions of Universal Studios and the neighboring Islands of Adventure had minimal waits, which made our visit even more enjoyable (who likes waiting in endless lines anyway?). While riding some of them, we checked out the future park additions still under construction: Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon and Fast & Furious: Supercharged.

Recent rumors said that this secondary park entrance might soon be removed:

We would be quite sad if that happened, as we use this entrance fairly often:

Despicable Me - Minion Mayhem had the longest wait time this afternoon:

A 45-minute wait for this ride is actually not that bad:

Let's move on to New York to check out the facade of Race Through New York:

Notice the new trash cans:

This stage door could lead to a backstage area:

The Tonight Shop is now open:

Let's take a look inside:

Check out some of the merchandise currently available at this store:

These stairs lead to the exit of the attraction:

An elevator will be available to Guests using a wheelchair and those who do not feel comfortable using the stairs:

Going back outside, we noticed that workers were putting finishing touches on the ride's marquee:

The attraction's entrance is pretty impressive:

  1. Again really nice facade, but that big empty side is really off putting.
Hope they do something with it.

  2. Dear God, what were they thinking?

  3. Agreed. It's too plain. Needs more details.

  4. Have to agree, they really should've continued the skyscraper theming all the way down the building instead of only doing the corner, it looks cheap and way too plain.

  5. How and why is this a thing and how did anyone say this was a good idea. Nor how it's gotten obvious priority over a fast and the furious attraction/ride. Also hey, let's go buy some things in this crappy gift shop to make people care even less about this thing they'll probably wanna remove in like 5-8 years at the most!

  6. For a long time, I thought Avatar land was a bad idea. Now I don't.

But I'll always think this is a bad idea. Oh well, Universal can't hit all home runs. Disney has done plenty of dumb things in recent years.
