Serengeti Night Safari Returning to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay


When visiting Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, one of the unique experiences that Guests are able to enjoy is the option to embark on the award-winning Serengeti Safari. On this tour, guests have the opportunity to see African animals up close, such as zebras, giraffes and ostriches while learning the importance of protecting their species in the wild. During the winter and spring, Busch Gardens puts a twist on this safari and offers the guest-favorite Serengeti Night Safari, which takes place after park close.


The night-time offering is an exclusive 2.5 hour guided walking tour that takes place after sunset and takes guests on a wild African night through the Edge of Africa and the Serengeti Plain.

Once Busch Gardens Tampa Bay closes for the day, you’ll start out at the Serengeti Overlook, where you can enjoy savory appetizers and ice-cold beverages before the tour begins. You will then be lead into the night in search of close encounters with some of Africa’s iconic wildlife in the Edge of Africa.

Next stop on your safari tour is the Serengeti Plain. You will board an open safari truck and begin to explore the home of rhinos and giraffes to see what these animals do after dark. The park's safari guides will provide you with the best techniques for spotting wildlife in the dark.

After an unforgettable nighttime adventure, you’ll have a chance to relax by enjoying more beverages around the campfire as your hosts take you on another journey, through tales of African lore.

As the evening comes to an end, your guides will escort you back to the Serengeti Overlook, where you will enjoy coffee and dessert while you relive your adventure. This experience is offered on select nights and will be available for a limited time only.
