Universal Studios Update: Fallon, Fast & Furious, and More

Work continues to take place in multiple areas of Universal Studios Florida.
In Production Central, the facade of the new Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon attraction is taking shape fairly quickly, and continues to cover the formerly unthemed soundstage that used to house Twister. In San Francisco, the new Fast & Furious: Supercharged ride continues to go vertical, providing a glimpse of how massive the new showbuilding will be. And that's not all.

  1. If the Fast and the Furious is gonna have a huge building there, then what about all that massive space that Disaster took up? not just the ride and theatre but that huge queue and parking area in the back. Seems like they could put two rides back there if they wanted.

  2. Here in the UK we're not too familiar with Jimmy Fallon. What do you think about the prospect of this attraction ? Will it be a winner ?

  3. Bob, Jimmy Fallon is our Tonight Show host. He's talented, funny as anything, and the show is awesome. I believe that the ride will be awesome. The way I've heard the ride described, it's supposed to be like Soarin' at EPCOT, but based on NYC with a bunch of surprise cameos by celebrities. If I had to guess, I think it's going to be awesome! But, only time eel tell. Universal hasn't let me down with any of their attractions recently!

  5. Gutted they got rid of Disaster, it may not have been the best attraction but it was different... Hopefully Fast & Furious is wildy different to the awful ride in Hollywood.

As for Jimmy Fallon, very appealing to the Americans but I can't see it being to everyones taste

  6. @Bob:

Anon comment below yours is 1 opinion. I personally find him annoying, and a terrible interviewer.
He already "hosts" the video in USH for the tram. He's the guy also "hosting" the video in the hamster ball part of Jurassic World, where even the youngest kid is bored/uninterested while watching him.

  7. Yeah, Jimmy Fallon is not universally loved here in the United States. (Sorry, I couldn't resist using that adjective.) I can't stand watching his show because he plays incredibly childish games with his guests. I don't need to see Academy Award winning actors smashing raw eggs on their heads.

  9. Jimmy Fallon might be great, but the ride experience should be. Eventually they can swap him out for someone else. But I believe that ride through NYC will be entertaining.

  10. When do you reckon Fallon will be opening?
Traveling to Orlando next May and hoping it will be open!
