Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Closing for Refurbishment

Be advised that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be closed for refurbishment from August 8 until November 18, 2016. Rumors say that, in addition to general maintenance, new special effects might be installed in the last lift-hill, similar to those currently found at Disneyland Park in California. During that time, Guests are encouraged to visit other thrilling attractions in Magic Kingdom Park like the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Fantasyland or Space Mountain in Tomorrowland.

  1. Hopefully they get it done by then. Thanksgiving week is crowded enough.

  2. I really hope they do add the effects to the last lift. That would be great!

  3. It would. But even that shouldn't take 4 months, even in Disney-time.

  5. Just in time fur the Thanksgiving crowds, but that's great. The parks are decorated for Christmas and it's one of the most beautiful times of the year! As for the photo, I could take it or leave it, but it's taken everywhere else in the parks, why not?
