Animal Kingdom Update: A Look Around the New Theater

We are less than two weeks away from the debut of many of the new nighttime offerings that will delight Guests after the sun goes down at Animal Kingdom.
While the opening of the Rivers of Light show has been delayed (recent rumors say that it could open in July), a temporary nighttime spectacular themed after the live action version of the Jungle Book movie will open in its place, allowing park Guests to check out the new amphitheater built next to the Discovery River.

Before we get to that part of the park, let's see what's new around the other areas of Animal Kingdom:

In Africa, walls are still up in front of the facade representing a typical Guest House:

The building is located across from the Harambe Market:

The pathway behind the Tree of Life continues to be widened:

  1. Really like Asia. But they've overdone the prayer flags, it's almost oppressive to walk through. And they're all one of only a few layouts, so the flags look more like the town ordered a few dozen strings from Oriental Trading Co and just strung them around to make tourists happy.

  2. Agree to disagree. I love seeing the mass of flags blowing in the wind. It helps the new construction feel real to me. The cementosaurus looks better in green, for sure...

  4. I do agree with you on the Dino

The flags are just a little nit to pick, Asia remains my favorite area of AK if not WDW entirely.

  5. I do like the flags but can see that now they are using them way too much. Asia is the best themed area. The details are amazing.
