Animal Kingdom Update: Pandora and Rivers of Light

The Walt Disney World Resort finally revealed the opening date of the Rivers of Light Nighttime show just a few days ago. While we are now aware that this new addition will debut on April 22, we still do not know how long the show will be and how many times it will be shown each evening. We may have to wait a little longer to find that out. In the meantime, come along with us to check out the work that has been done around the amphitheater and other areas of the park.

Let's begin with some mandatory photos of Pandora's floating mountains:

A look at the area from inside the park:

Work continues to be done around the Flame Tree BBQ restaurant:

Let's now focus on the Discovery River:

Work on the amphitheater is slowly wrapping up:

The scaffolding that was previously surrounding this building was removed just a few days ago:

Here you are more photos of the area:

The new Tiffins restaurant also continues to take shape on the opposite side of the park:

And that is all for now. Before concluding, remember to like us on our official Facebook page and follow us on Twitter for live updates from the parks. 1. For all the naysayers, this is a serious wake up call! Ok I'll admit...I was one of them!

The way they are building this out of stone, including the seating areas, and painting it to match the surrounding Asia/Expedition Everest area says a lot. Even the A/V Tech towers are themed to fit into Everest. Everything matches and fits...no easy task for building something that will seat thousands of people.

I am very impressed and can't wait to see the show! In job Disney!!

  3. I sure see a lot of unthemed A/V equipment out there... and no walking thru the area it doesn't "Blend In" it stick out like a sore thumb.

  4. Stick out like a sore thumb. You obviously don't know anything about A/V. It is impossible to fully cover up lighting and I'm sure the reasons they they have those speakers the way they do is for the best experience possible. So of course they would have to sacrifice some cosmetic stuff. It's a theme park, not a real jungle. You guys are so picky, just be happy we're actually getting something new, especially in DAK.

  5. Do we have any idea or round about on Tiffin's opening? Am I wrong in assuming a late May/early June opening? Or is this going to be a project that drags.

  6. So, if YOUR assumption is WRONG, the project "drags"

    Got it. Thx.

    That's right.

All of my assumptions are correct. And if they aren't then the people in charge of the work are incompetent and should be fired.

Glad we're on the same page.

  8. if Disney builds/rehabs fast - then whine that they rushed and didn't do a good job.
If Disney builds/rehabs slow - then whine that they dragged their feet and didn't do a good job.

Just two of the if,then cases that drive vast majority of Disney forum 'discussion'

Then you get guys like me that complain about that! Lol.

We all like Disney, we just are frustrated about The Mouse in different ways.

Ps: can you guys go to Anaheim? Lots of good photo op of the new construction there.
