Updated Aerial Imagery of Walt Disney World (Feb. 2016)

As we already reported previously, the NearMap site was updated  earlier today to show a more current aerial view of Orlando (images are from February 5).
Thanks to this update, we are able to get an up-close look at some of the areas that are currently under construction around Central Florida's theme parks. In this update we'll check out all of the areas around the Walt Disney World Resort that are under construction. Let's take a look around and see what's new.

NOTE: Clicking on any of the following photos will direct you to the actual map of the location.

MAGIC KINGDOM

Nothing new is currently happening at the Magic Kingdom Park (there's nothing to see from the air):

EPCOT

At Epcot, the third theater that will soon join the other two Soarin' theaters appears to be almost ready:

The new solar panels installed near the park form on of the biggest hidden Mickeys in the world:

  1. What is the new fireworks launch pad for? Is just for the Star Wars Fireworks or are they installing this because Hollywood Studios is going to get a new permanent night time show?

  3. I'm not saying you're wrong, but are you sure the solar panels form a larger Hidden Mickey than the pine trees of Mickey's Forest?

  4. @SC: You are absolutely right, that Mickey-shaped forest appears to be bigger than this. We'll change our post to reflect this. Thanks for letting us know!

  5. Can you please do a post like this for SeaWorld Orlando?

My nearmap free trial expired so I can't go and look myself. Thanks!

  6. Thank you @OTPN. I've heard those rumors too but didn't know how true they were. Its about time they have a night time show without expecting everyone to pack into the Fantasmic seating area.
