Disney's Port Orleans Resort News & Updates (Dec. 2015)


Disney's Port Orleans Resort is undoubtedly one of the most beloved hotels at the Walt Disney World Resort (the French Quarter is especially considered one of the most charming moderate resort on property by many Guests).
As the Walt Disney World Resort continues to work hard to keep the resort's many offerings fresh and exciting, additional offerings are tested and added on a seasonal basis. Continue reading to see what is new around this themed resort.


Food & Beverage Tests
Disney's Port Orleans Resort is expected to test food carts and/or pargo vehicles at the pools and sell snacks. Suntan lotions, insect repellents and other similar offerings may also be available in the future.

The Sassagoula Floatworks Food Factory is currently closed for renovations. While the restaurant is closed, the Bonfamille’s Café will be open to service Guests as the Scat Cat’s Café, which will serve an "all-you-care-to-eat" Cajun family style dinner nightly (from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.) through December 30. The price for this offering is $25.99 for Adults and $14.99 for children 9 and younger.

  • Grilled Andouille Sausage
  • Cajun-Roasted Chicken

Miscellaneous News
A new children’s activity table for drawing has been installed inside Fulton’s General Store. Additionally, new Rapid-Refill Mugs have rolled out across the Walt Disney World Resort.

  1. Those new Refill mugs are quite cute and include references to all the Disney resorts. A step in the right direction, although we still miss the resort-specific refill mugs.

  2. It's easy to see the money saved by generic WDW merchandise, especially 20 years ago. But the modern era however, small runs, JIT inventory, automated backoffice operations etc - it's crazy Disney doesn't offer more original, hotel/resort specific goods.
    They talk up their 'resorts' as each being unique and special, but they're no longer honoring that image - each is just another hotel at WDW, no big deal.
