As Disney Springs continues to grow and expand, some of the existing dining venues will be undergoing extensive renovations as they prepare for the future.
One of these venues, Planet Hollywood, is about to undergo construction to transform its flagship Disney Springs location. This refurbishment will require the restaurant to close for approximately six months starting in January 2016. Also, more than 460 restaurant workers are expected to be laid off early next year.

When the restaurant reopens in summer 2016, it will be renamed the Planet Hollywood Observatory. With the renovation, the venue will have a fresh new look and feel and expand by 13,000 square feet with a new patio bar, new terrace, and more outdoor seating.

Additional information about this reimagined, themed restaurant are expected to be released next spring.
