Islands of Adventure Update: Hulk's Refurbishment Begins

While the new Reign of Kong project is currently the focus of the majority of our Universal Orlando updates, plenty of work continues to be done in other areas of Islands of Adventure. Indeed, in addition to the major refurbishment of The Incredible Hulk Coaster, there are quite a few miscellaneous news to report from the Port of Entry, Marvel Superhero Island, Toon Lagoon, and more. As always, we invite you to join us and take a look around this fantastic theme park.

Welcome to Universal's Islands of Adventure:

One of the signs of one of the Port of Entry shops is still missing a piece:

The facade of the Confisco Grille is now tarp-free:

More details will be added to the facade in the next few days:

The restaurant even received a new sign. This is the former sign:

Here's the new sign:

Entering Marvel Superhero Island:

Walls are now up around The Incredible Hulk Coaster:

More marks have appeared on other sections of the track:

We may see some portions of the track being removed in the next few weeks:

New signs reassure Guests that the coaster will return in 2016:

Additionally, some artworks taken from Incredible Hulk comics have been installed on the walls:

New charging stations have been installed in the lockers area of the roller coaster:

Moving on:

The yellow columns have finally been completely refurbished:

It seems like the stairs leading to the Toon Lagoon Amphitheater were recently repainted:

The male restrooms near the Comic Strip Cafe are currently closed for refurbishment:

Strolling through Toon Lagoon:

The trigger of Hush-A-Bomb is still missing:

Camp Jurassic:

One of the slides is still closed:

Nearby, we noticed that the Natural Selections fruit stand is behind walls:

Moving on to other areas of the park:

Seuss Landing:

One of the backstage gates around inside Seuss Landing has been completely removed and replaced by temporary gates. You can definitely tell that these gates look a bit too plain to be permanent:

Thank you for joining us today!:

  2. Must be Disney and Universal worked out some long term deal for Universal to keep using Marvel or I don't think Universal would be spending so much on Marvel Island if it wasn't long term

  3. The Marvel contract is forever. Always has been.
