Jungle Skipper Canteen Opening Soon at Magic Kingdom

Jungle Skipper Canteen, a new table service restaurant, will open later this year in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom Park. As announced during this year's D23 Expo, the restaurant will be staffed by servers looking to feed weary travelers with a side of classic Jungle Cruise Skipper humor. The location’s storyline is an extension of the classic Jungle Cruise attraction, a beloved Guest favorite since it was introduced at Disneyland Park in 1955 and at Magic Kingdom in 1971.

Jungle Skipper Canteen will serve lunch and dinner inspired by the flavors of Africa, Asia and South America. The restaurant's soft opening is expected to take place later this year.

Here you are some frequently asked questions about this new themed restaurant coming to the park:

Q1. When will Jungle Skipper Canteen open?
A soft opening is anticipated in late 2015. More details will be shared at a later time.

Q2. When will reservations for Jungle Skipper Canteen be available?
We look forward to sharing details about when reservations will be available at a later date.

Q3. Will Jungle Skipper Canteen be staffed by Cast who work at the Jungle Cruise attraction?
Jungle Skipper Canteen will be staffed by Food & Beverage Cast. Because the restaurant’s storyline is an extension of the Jungle Cruise attraction, Food & Beverage Cast Members will offer themed service as Jungle Cruise Skippers looking to feed weary travelers.

Q4. Why are you adding another restaurant at Magic Kingdom Park? What’s driving the need?
We regularly review and update our portfolio of food and beverage offerings. Because table service dining is so popular with our Guests, Jungle Skipper Canteen will give Guests an additional table service option at Magic Kingdom Park.

  2. Great idea for a great land, Adventureland and a great attraction, Jungle Cruise. Finally Disney is re-opening a shuttered restaurant after too many years.
    Sounds amazing.

  3. It sounds nice. We'll just have to wait and see.

Now if they'd just get rid of the eyesore carpet ride..

  4. Really? Did you just say 'Now if they'd just get rid of the eyesore carpet ride'? So typical, what we need is another restaurant that will cost a family of 4 over $100 to eat at and take out a kids' ride. Magic Kingdom should be ALL about the kids. Epcot has plenty of adult styled restaurants and adult beverages. I suppose you want to take out Dumbo because it's to tacky. Some of us go to have fun, not eat in fancy restaurants for a week.
