Polynesian Village Resort Update: Lava Pool Construction

The major expansion of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort continues to bring a lot changes throughout this beloved themed hotel. In addition to a redesigned entrance, lobby, and other common areas, the new Bora Bora Bungalows will soon welcome the first Guests. Let's also not forget about the brand-new Deluxe Studios, which many families will be able enjoy in the very near future.
Today, though, we'll focus on the Lava Pool, the largest pool area of the resort:

We visited the resort on a rainy day. Excuse the quality of some of the photos:

  1. Is there a gate to prevent people from walking on the bridge that leads you to the bungalows?

I only ask as I would find it annoying having people walk up to them to look around. I picture that they have some kind gate that you need to swipe your card or magic band to get access onto the bridge.

  2. The openness of the lobby is starting to grow on me, I always felt the downstairs was a bit too closed in. But the fountain looks like what my kids would call a pile of cow turds.
