"Spring Forward" Event to Take Place at Animal Kingdom

A one-day special event will take place next week at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. During the "Spring Forward" event on March 5, 2015 at Rafiki's Planet Watch, Guests will have the opportunity to meet some cool amphibians while discovering different amphibian adaptations, identifying various frog calls, and learning about the amphibians native to Florida. Caricature artists and face painters will also transform Guests into one of their amphibian friends.

The critically endangered Puerto Rican crested toad, which resides at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, will make an appearance so Guests can learn about the conservation efforts in place to help repopulate the species in the wild.

There are several other amphibian species that are threatened by extinction due to loss of habitat, climate change, pollution and disease. However, every one of us can help frogs, toads and other amphibians flourish in the wild once again! Be sure to attend the event to learn more about this subject.
