Colossal Curl Construction Continues at Adventure Island

Since October 2014, construction on Colossal Curl (a new water slide) has been underway at Adventure Island, as the water park gears up for the 2015 season in March. With slide pieces now installed, Colossal Curl is shaping up to be the most exciting thrill slide ever to be built at Busch Garden Tampa's water park.
Just a few days ago, the official Busch Gardens Tampa blog posted some interesting photos showing the progress that has been done so far. Take a look:

The fiberglass slide pieces came all the way from Canada and were manufactured by ProSlide Technology, Inc. The 400 blue, yellow and green slide pieces make Colossal Curl the TALLEST ride at Adventure Island, standing at approximately 70 feet.

Andrew Schaffer, engineer and Colossal Curl project manager, has been giving fans a behind-the-scenes look of the construction progress. Check out the latest video where Andrew explains the funnel element and installation of the wave wall:

Soon, the splash pool will be filled and the surrounding areas will be complete. Stay tuned for more construction updates as the park prepares to welcome Colossal Curl during Adventure Island’s 2015 season!
