Skyscraper at Skyplex: Official ON-RIDE Video Released

Just a few minutes ago, the company behind the Skyplex project released some great, new details about one of the most exciting new attractions scheduled to debut in Orlando in the next few years. We are talking about the terrifying Skyscraper, a vertical roller coaster that most of us wouldn't even be able to imagine. This 570-foot tall attraction was announced back in June 2014, and many artworks were released. Today, an incredible video was unveiled.

Here you are the first official ON-RIDE video that will show you just how out-of-this-world this experience will be. There are no words to express the terror (and excitement) we felt while watching it (Note: the video is in high-definition, so it may take a few seconds to load if you have a slow connection):

As you can see, this will be one of the tallest and longest roller coasters ever built. It will not only make use of the tower (which will also house a restaurant at the top), but will also wander around the building that will house shops, dining locales, and more. It will be quite the sight to behold. Will you ride it?

  2. Beware those of us with old video cards: their clip may make your system crash (save everything before trying)

  3. @Last Anonymous: What happened on your end? We placed on the post the HTML code taken directly form the official website of the Skyplex. If others report a similar problem, we will remove the video. Thanks for letting us know, and sorry for the issues you may be dealing with!

  4. @Admin, The video crashed my browser by attempting to open a new full sized window (stayed blank). Then, knowing it was going to be trouble for me I closed everything on my system and opened and tried again. The result: Blue Screen of Death. Hope I'm the only one it happened to.

    Thanks for a fast reply!

  5. Looks great. I feel bad for the mechanic that needs to walk the track every morning!

  6. @Second-to-last Anonymous: I want to sincerely apologize once again for the issue, because we try to do all we can to provide a great experience to those visiting our site. That said, we posted that video because it is the best-looking one we have found (the YouTube version looks distorted). We would like to maintain that version of the video, but if someone else lets us know about any issue (like yours), we will promptly remove it.

  9. No problem viewing it in Chrome on Windows 7.

With that said, this ride looks TERRIFYING! And I love roller coasters (having been on Kingda Ka, El Toro, Millennium Force, etc.)!

  11. No chance this gets built. But I hope I'm wrong.

  12. Normally I am the positive, and supportive one, but I agree with Patrick, not a chance this gets built. I'm no expert, but their physics seems kinda shaky. It is mostly downhill, with very few uphill sections to control the speed. Unless there are a bunch of safety brakes trimming off the speed each time it goes flat, it seems as though the speed would be out of control before it hits bottom.

If it does have safety brakes along the way for controlling speed, then it will likely be very jerky, with speedy downhills followed by sudden slow downs. I'm no expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.
