Islands of Adventure Update: Jurassic Park and King Kong

After a few days of out-of-the-ordinary photo-updates, we are finally back on track with the regular show. This morning we are going to visit Universal's Islands of Adventure together, but we will only focus on two particular themed areas of the park: Jurassic Park and the future King Kong land. There's a lot going on at the Universal Orlando Resort as a whole, and the next few years will certainly prove to be even more exciting than ever before! Let's start to explore the park. Enjoy!:

First of all, let's enter Jurassic Park:

The best time to take photos is definitely right before park closing:

Nothing is still going on in the former Triceratops Discovery Trail area, even though we can confirm that there are actual plans for this area. That said, we have no idea if and when they will be actually realized:

Some stray cats were roaming the area:

Walking around:

Time to explore Camp Jurassic to get some aerial views of the future King Kong themed land:

Notice the new concrete base:

A closer look at the construction zone:

Behind the walls:

A temporary pond was recently created:

A closer look at the new concrete:

The Toon Lagoon side has a huge pile of dirt:

We definitely miss the Jurassic Park arch:

And that is all for now. Before concluding, remember to like us on our official Facebook page and follow us on Twitter for live updates from the parks. 1. Wait so Universal is actually "building" a whole new area for this King kong ride? They aren't just taking an already used area and repainting it?

Wow when did Disney and Universal switch places?

  2. Frozen, or coming out movie, gets a rode with Disney? Wow, what a shock. What next how about a Modern Family ride.

  3. I think Disney building Frozen as they know the building already up so they really all they got to do is strip out the old Norway stuff and add the frozen stuff unless it's getting a whole new track layout as well. Look how long it took them to build the new fantasyland. Universal took half that time to build the London section and I think it even bigger.

  4. Didn't I read on this site that the Jurassic Park arch had been removed ? Has it been replaced ?

  5. Yes Bob, the arch on that side is removed and will reappear closer to the terrace falls restaurant.

I bet Norway's Rockwork will get a bit of snow on them and a miniature castle like the crappy Beast one on top of it to kill any credibility for that pavilion.

    Can't wait for Kong though.

  6. I recently visited Islands of Adventure and i wanted to ride the flyers in jurassic Park but they wouldn't let me. i wanted to see the construction. Do they only let certain people on at certain times?

  7. You can only ride flyers if you're UNDER a height requirement or with someone who is. I didn't go to IoA until I was tall enough for the Hulk/DD, so I've never been on it either. What a stupid policy...

  8. I asked about that when I was there today. The ride attendant said that it was because of the brakes. The pads wear out quickly and are difficult to replace, and the heavier the riders the faster they wear out. Restricting the riders lowers maintenance costs.
