Polynesian Village Resort Expansion Update (PART 1)

Work on the brand-new villas continue at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. This new Disney Vacation Club area will soon open to Guests, along with a completely re-imagined hotel. Due to this major project, many of the areas of this resort are currently behind walls or unavailable for Guest use (for example, the Nanea pool closed just a couple of days ago. But, don't worry: we included a few photos of the area in this update). Let's take a look around together:

First of all, it looks like they may be building a new planter (or a new fountain) in front of the hotel's entrance:

Before entering the lobby:

This water feature is still on, fortunately:

Walls inside the lobby:

The ceiling has been replaced in some areas. It looks good:

Work continues outside the lobby area:

It feels like Disney Springs:

The Nanea pool is now closed for an extensive rehab. Here you are a few photos taken when it was open:

Rumors say that the volcano will be removed or downsized. If those are the plans, we hope they change:

The nearby marina:

The beach area:

Time to check out the new villas:

We are sure the area will look great once the work is done:
