Disney's Polynesian Resort Expansion Update (May 2014)

Welcome to our newest photo-report, Orlando Theme Park News Readers!
Today we are going to take a look around one of the most beloved Disney Hotels ever built, Disney's Polynesian Resort. We are here to check out the progress being done in the various areas that are currently under construction, including the Great Ceremonial Hall (lobby area), the pool area, the beach (where the new Disney Vacation Club villas are currently being built), and more. Enjoy!:

Walls can be seen in many areas of the resort:

A peek behind the walls:

Other areas are still wall-free for your enjoyment, of course:

Inside the Great Ceremonial Hall:

This great fountain will soon be a thing of the past:

Walls are already installed around some of the sides of the fountain:

Going back outside:

Time to check out the Nanea Volcano Pool area:

This area will soon receive major changes as well:

A look at the new DVC villas from the Seven Seas Lagoon:

Some of the villas are still in early construction stage:

Others have already taken shape:

More work being done nearby:

  2. Do you know if construction will be complete and if the Memories wedding ceremony will still be offered at the Polynesian in January 2016?

  3. That's a good question, Michelle. I would suggest trying to reach directly the Walt Disney World Resort to have an official confirmation, but I am sure they will continue to offer those services. If not, remember that there's always availability next door, at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa!
