Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: Fun Facts & New Information

To prepare for tomorrow's special Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Media Event (taking place around the entire Magic Kingdom Park, even though most of the time will be spent in the Fantasyland Forest), the Walt Disney World Resort has released some very interesting information and fun facts regarding this amazing new attraction, which is sure to delight young and old alike for years to come. A Closer Look at the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Animatronics

"Is it open yet?" That's what many people continue to ask us - either online or in person - when talking about Magic Kingdom Park's newest attraction, the Seven dwarfs Mine Train. Yes, many people are excited and cannot wait to experience this ride. In the meantime, the Disney Parks Blog just released even more photos and information regarding the Audio-Animatronics that will populate the ride, giving us an even closer look at these awesome figures:

Updated MyMagic+ Guides Now Available (April 2014)

With additional entitlements added to the new FastPass+ service (more than three FastPasses available during a single visit, park-hopping feature added), an updated informational buckslip has been produced for Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, as well as updated buckslips for Annual Passholders and authorized ticket sellers. These buckslips are available in English as well as French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Falcon's Fury Preview Video: Dropping Face Down

Busch Gardens Tampa's newest thrill ride - Falcon's Fury - will open in just a few days, so soon many Guests will be able to personally experience how it feels falling from a tower that's more than 300 feet tall. In the meantime, you can already virtually ride this new attraction, thanks to a great new video that was just released a few days ago by Busch Gardens. Take a look... and see if you think you will be brave enough to actually ride Falcon's Fury in real life:

Disney's Hollywood Studios 25 Advisory and Details

Disney’s Hollywood Studios will host a special event on Thursday, May 1, 2014 that will include a Rededication Ceremony (10 a.m.), an Anniversary Motorcade (7 p.m.), and a special fireworks show (9:30 p.m.). Limited edition merchandise will be available for purchase at Sound Stage 1. Due to this event, the entire park (including the parking lot) is expected to be very, very busy, so an advisory was put into place to avoid creating a chaotic situation. Frozen Products Purchase Limit at Disney Parks and More

Given the popularity of the Disney animated film Frozen, beginning April 29, 2014 all Frozen products will have a purchase limit of five (5) per item per Guest. The same-item limit includes allFrozen products, e.g., dolls, costumes, accessories, media and souvenir items. Same-item refers to identical products. This same policy currently in place also for Duffy items, which will be implemented at the Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Disney Vacation Club, and Disney Cruise Line.

Marabou Stork Chicks Hatched at Busch Gardens Tampa

Busch Gardens Tampa is very proud to announce the hatching of three brand new Marabou Stork chicks at the park. Busch Gardens first showed off this beautiful (and large) African species of stork in the 1970’s. In addition to that, Busch Gardens Tampa was also the very first zoo/theme park in the country to hatch marabou storks back in 1978. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Update - Getting Closer (PART 1)

As we posted earlier this morning, Cast member training has officially begun  at the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train today, and many of the Cast Members that are part of the ride's opening team have already ridden the attraction. Soft-openings may happen any day now. In the meantime, here you are what could be our very last photo-update focused solely on this Fantasyland attraction (other than an opening day photo-gallery, which we will definitely post in multiple parts). Downtown Disney: Marketplace Bus Loop Hours Change

As part of the Disney Springs expansion project, enhancements to the Marketplace bus loop will begin April 28, and will continue through late May. For this reason, the Downtown Disney bus loop operating hours will be the following:
Marketplace bus loop operating from Noon (12 p.m.) to Midnight (12 a.m.)Pleasure Island bus loop operating 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.

I-Drive 360 Media Event Includes New Artworks and Details

Work on I-Drive 360 (previously known as "I-Drive Live", then "Orlando Eye") is progressing quickly, and just a few days ago, a special media event was held in the future area that will soon be home to the new Madame Tussauds museum, the SEA LIFE Aquarium, the majestic Orlando Eye wheel, and much more. During that event, new information and artworks were released, and today we are going to share them with you. There's really a lot to look forward to see in this area:

Cast Members Previewing New Lion King Theater on May 8

The Cast Members working at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park will host a special event (NOT open to Guests) on Thursday, May 8, 2014. Where will it be held? In the brand-new Festival of the Lion King theater! This is a great news, because it means that most of the work may already be completed inside the structure itself (select areas are still not show-ready at this moment, though). The event will also include details regarding the park's expansion.

Select Guests Preview Ihu's Breakaway Falls - VIDEO

We’re just two weeks away from officially opening Ihu’s Breakaway Falls at Aquatica - SeaWorld's Water Park, but a few park guests were able to experience Ihu’s Breakaway Falls firsthand yesterday morning (April 25, 2014). Between now and the grand opening on May 9, 2014, even more Guests will be able to experience Orlando’s tallest, steepest and only multi-drop tower slide of its kind. Check out the reactions of the first few riders!:

FastPass+ Kiosks Start Offering Full Functionality in Spanish

If you are among the many Guests that speak Spanish, you will be happy to know that, beginning Monday (April 28, 2014), all FastPass+ kiosks will offer full functionality in Spanish. Before touching a MagicBand or RF-enabled card to the touch point, the Guest can choose “Español” from the home screen to enter the Spanish flow. They then can make their FastPass+ selections or modifications in Spanish. Additional languages are expected to be added in the coming months.

Magic Kingdom Advisory: Seven Dwarfs Media Day Impacts

As part of a media sneak peek, select media will be visiting the Magic Kingdom Park on May 1 and 2, 2014 to learn more about what’s happening at the Walt Disney World Resort, including MyMagic+ and new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Due to their visit, some attractions and areas will either close early or have a delayed opening. Here you are all the information you need to know if you are planning on visiting the Magic Kingdom Park on those dates:

Animal Kingdom: Mr. Kamal's Closing for Refurbishment

A minor advisory regarding one of the food & beverage kiosks at Animal Kingdom:

Beginning this coming Monday (April 28, 2014), Mr. Kamal’s (a quick-service kiosk located along the pathway between Asia and Africa) will be closed for refurbishment through May 10, 2014. During this time, the Bradley Falls location (situated nearby) will be open and offering vegetarian options for Guests visiting the park.

Baseball Player Wil Myers Spends a Day at Discovery Cove

ORLANDO, Florida (April 25, 2014) — Tampa Bay Rays’ baseball player, Wil Myers, traded in his rigorous practice and game schedule to immerse in the tropical oasis of Discovery Cove® in Orlando. For the day, the 2013 American League Rookie of the Year swam with real-life rays, dolphins and tropical fish. Camp Kennedy Space Center - Have Fun While Learning

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER (April 25, 2014) – For a summer camp experience that educates, entertains and engages children ages 8 to 16, Camp Kennedy Space Center day camp provides young people with an inspiring week of fun and enriching activities. Camp KSC runs Monday through Friday for nine weeks beginning June 9. This year’s theme – Space Shuttle Atlantis: From Sketch Pad to Launch Pad – focuses on the orbiter and the global impact of its 33 missions into space.

SeaWorld Orlando to Hold Hiring Event on May 1, 2014

SeaWorld Orlando, Discovery Cove, and Aquatica are hiring for approximately 300 seasonal jobs including lifeguards, park quality hosts, food service attendants, park operations hosts, and more. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Those interested in applying must first apply online at seaworldjobs.com and then attend a special hiring event on Thursday, May 1, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at SeaWorld Orlando’s Ports of Call facility (enter through SeaWorld's main tolls entrance).

WDW News: Possible Filming for Soarin' Over The World

A helicopter is planned to fly over multiple areas of Walt Disney World Resort in the next few days to capture aerial footage that may be used in the rumored new Soarin' Over the World attraction. It will fly at the following locations and times:

Macaws Training at Animal Kingdom in New Areas

Beginning this week, the Flights of Wonder team at Animal Kingdom will be conducting training prior to park open with hyacinth, green-winged, blue and gold, scarlet, blue-throated and military macaws. During the training, the birds will be flying to several lifts throughout the park, increasing their distance as time progresses. The lifts will be removed prior to park open daily. Based on training progress, the birds may be seen by Guests in new areas of the park in the future. 

CityWalk Photo-Update: Work on Menchie's Gets Serious

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: Inside the Interactive Queue Line

The official Disney Parks Blog continues to release additional information regarding the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Magic Kingdom's newest attraction (which still doesn't have an official opening date set in stone, it seems...). KSC: This Week in Space (April 17-30)

The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex just shared with us the newest edition of a regular feature called "This Week in Space." Let's take a look back: April 17, 1970: Apollo 13 made a splash landing in the Pacific Ocean. Only a couple of days into their mission, an oxygen tank exploded and the crew switched their focus from landing on the moon to safely returning to Earth.

Downtown Disney Update: A Great Morning (PART 1)

We usually do not visit Downtown Disney during the early morning hours. Most of the stores, restaurants, and places to visit open around 10 or 11 a.m., so there's not really a lot to see before that time. That being said, the beauty of nature more than makes up for the lack of man-mad attractions: the colors of the sky at dawn, the quiet walkways with trees gently moving on each side, and then... the noises coming from a nearby construction area. A necessary evil, I guess.

SeaWorld Team Members Making a Difference Today

SeaWorld Team Members work to make every day Earth Day! As you may know, guests wouldn't normally find plastic bags in our parks as we recently transitioned to paper and recycled bags only, which has saved an estimated 4 million bags from entering landfills each year! In honor of Earth Day this year, SeaWorld Orlando Team Members have started bringing in plastic grocery and shopping bags from home. Once collected, the bags will be recycled into wildlife-friendly, reusable bags.

LEGOLAND Florida Running on Renewable Energy Today

WINTER HAVEN, Florida(Tuesday, April 22, 2014) - Today, LEGOLAND® Florida and Tampa Electric will kick off a groundbreaking partnership by making the 150-acre theme park run completely on renewable energy for the day in celebration of Earth Day – the first theme park to do so in the United States. The celebration is part of existing and new conservation initiatives, including installations that will educate park guests about solar energy.

Universal Orlando Hosts “Earth Week Recharge Experience”

On Earth Day (Tuesday, April 22, 2014) Universal Orlando will host a special “Earth Week Recharge Experience” at Universal Studios Florida. Guests will be able to enjoy kinetic playground equipment that will “power” the event, live entertainment, giveaways, and a solar recharging lounge area. Guests will also have a chance to share pictures taken from NBCUniversal’s famous studio sets with the hashtag #LightsOffScreensOn on Twitter.

Wine on Tap Now Served at the Wave...of American Flavors

The Wave…of American Flavors (located inside Disney's Contemporary Resort) is now featuring a variety of wines served on tap. The Wine on tap concept is an environmental initiative that the restaurant opted as a unique way to serve well known quality wines. Wines served on tap are fresher than any other method of serving wines because the wines kept in kegs don’t come in contact with air. The system works with nitrogen, extending the life of the wine for up to 60 days.
