Wet 'n Wild Announces New Aqua Drag Racer Slide

Wet 'n Wild Orlando announces just a couple of days ago on the park's official Facebook page that a new water slide will open later this year (summer 2014), replacing the Bubba Tub slide (which opened in 1992). The new Aqua Drag Racer will be 60 stories (65.9 feet) tall and will have a speed of 15 feet per second, according to Central Florida News 13. Here you are some additional details regarding this exciting new slide, as well as a rendering showing how it will look:

As with most of the other slides found inside Wet 'n Wild Orlando, this too will have almost no visible theming (sadly). Here's the artwork we mentioned before (CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL-SIZE VERSION):

CFNews 13 also mentioned that "Aqua Drag Racer will have a clock at the bottom of the slide’s run out, keeping track of riders race times," and that the manufacturer is ProSlide Technology. In addition to that, one of the park's spokespeople stated that “installation should be easy,” and that "Some of Bubba Tub’s plumbing and support infrastructure will be reused for Aqua Drag Racer." so you can look forward to see this new slide take shape fairly quickly.
