Disney Princess Half Marathon Advisories (Feb. 20-23)


As some of our Readers will already know, runDisney will host the 2014 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend - presented by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Epcot, Magic Kingdom Park, and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex starting from Thursday, February 20, 2014 and will last until Sunday, February 23, 2014. Take note of the following advisories related to this special event, as well as some other special happenings related to this year's Princess Half Marathon (some of them are open to the general public):

This event requires road closures across the Walt Disney World Resort property from Saturday, Feb. 22-Sunday, Feb. 23. These closures will affect Cast Member commutes to and from work on the following roads:

- Disney Princess Enchanted 10K – Feb. 22
Epcot Center Drive eastbound – 4-7 a.m.
Backstage Lane – 4:30-7:30 a.m.
Overpass Road – 4:30-7:30 a.m.

- Disney Princess Half Marathon – Feb. 23
Epcot Center Drive - 11 p.m., Feb. 22-9:30 a.m., Feb. 23
Floridian Way – 4:30-9:30 a.m.
Backstage Lane – 4-11 a.m.
Overpass Road – 4-6 a.m.
World Drive southbound (Seven Seas to Epcot Center Drive) – 4:30-10 a.m.
World Drive northbound (Topiary Lane to Magic Kingdom Park 1) – 5:30-8:30 a.m.
World Drive (Buena Vista Drive to Magic Kingdom Toll Plaza) – 5-8 a.m. 

Spectator Viewing
Spectators will be able to see their runner at Magic Kingdom Park near Cinderella’s Castle and at Epcot in the Imagine Lot. Spectators will not need to purchase a Magic Kingdom Theme Park ticket. 

Happily Ever After Party
Runners and Guests are invited to join Downtown Disney to celebrate their finish with friends and family. They can expect to enjoy food, music and commemorative merchandise shopping. Admission to the Happily Ever After Party at Downtown Disney is open to race participants, their Guests and the public. Runners and Guests should utilize normal Downtown Disney bus transportation to attend this event.
