This Week in Disney History: October 25 - 31

October 25, 1994 - “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” debuts on video for the first time
Premiered in 1937 at the Carthay Circle Theater in Hollywood, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” is an adaptation of the German fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, telling the story of a beautiful princess who escapes the wrath of a wicked queen with help from seven diminutive miners. The film holds the title of being the very first full-length cel animated feature in the world and also the very first to debut as a part of the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. In 2001, the film was digitally restored on Disney DVD and included a making-of documentary and other special features. A variety of attractions and locations at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts around the globe were inspired by the story; the latest, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, comes to Magic Kingdom Park in 2014.
