Discovering Florida: Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo (PART 1)

Image
This afternoon the Orlando Theme Park News Team would like to (virtually) take you to Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo. As the name states, this is a quite large zoo that is located in Tampa, which is an area full of very interesting minor (and major) attractions. This particular attraction cannot be considered to be at the same level of Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park or Busch Gardens Tampa, but it can definitely be a place where families (especially locals) may want to spend a few hours together, checking out all of the zoo's exhibits and attractions.
There area animals from every corner of the earth: from cheetahs to elephants, from snakes to wallabies, from penguins to giraffes. If you are just looking for theme parks rides, though, you shouldn't get too excited. The park has a few small (and sometimes themed) flat rides here and there, but they are just an add-on to the experience. This is a an actual zoo, and it has exactly what people visiting such places expect to se…

The great thing about the place is that there's a very charming trolley that makes a trip around the entire outdoor section of "The Grove," and the area in general is very clean (as you will see in another upcoming photo-gallery, that is quite different from the rest of Los Angeles and Hollywood, which are very dirty areas). Let's take a look around:

DAK: Last Chances to see Bamboo and the Viva Gaia!

Please, make sure to take note of the following advisory, which affects some entertainment offerings at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park (namely the new Bamboo character and the Viva Gaia Street Band!):
If you plan on visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park in the next few days, you should note that Bamboo will continue to greet Guests in Africa, on the path to Asia, through September 23, 2013. The Viva Gaia Street Band! will also continue their sets through Monday, September 23, 2013. They will return later this year.
As you can see, this may be your last chance to see them this summer. They should be back soon, though.

LIVE Chat: Imagineers Working on Seven Dwarfs Ride

The official Disney Parks Blog is hosting a LIVE chat with Imagineers that are currently working on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. You can view the live chat by clicking HERE. here you are some of the highlights:
Let’s begin by talking about Princess Fairytale Hall, since that attraction opens this Wednesday.
-What's the storyline of Princess Fairytale Hall, and how does it fit with the rest of New Fantasyland? The storyline is that Princess Fairytale Hall is a gift from the king to Cinderella, and it’s a place for her and visiting princesses to meet the subjects of Fantasyland.
- Blog reader Kyle asked, ‘What hidden details are there that might go unnoticed by some guests?’ I would say the storybook collection is a really fun detail. It pays homage to all of our princesses, and that’s why it’s a “fairytale hall” - those books are in there as the seed that started the whole thing.

- Will Fairytale Hall be fast pass ready when it opens. What do you expect average wait times to be?
