"Wilderness Explorers" Debuts at Animal Kingdom

Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park has just officially welcomed the park's newest interactive game that promises to completely immerse young Guests as they explore all the areas of the park. Here's a preview of this great addition for those who haven't had the chance to experience it yet, from the Disney Parks Blog:

Become A Wilderness Explorer at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

“The wilderness must be explored!”

That’s the pledge of all Wilderness Explorers – and the character of Russell – in the Disney•Pixar film, “Up.” In the movie, Russell, a young Wilderness Explorer, is determined to learn about the outdoors and get that one last Wilderness Explorer badge that will let him earn Senior Wilderness Explorer status.

Here’s a sneak peek at the new Wilderness Explorers experience that is now open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. In it, kids can complete 30 different challenges to earn badge stickers for their Wilderness Explorer Handbook. Each hands-on activity teaches kids something new about the wild animals and wild places inside the park. They’ll also learn the official Wilderness Explorer Pledge. Participation is included in theme park admission and timing for the experience depends on how many badge challenges guests wish to complete.

This is definitely a great addition. We had the opportunity of seeing how this new game works, and we have to say that, in our opinion, this may be the best interactive game in any of the Walt Disney World theme parks, as it not only engages Guests in fun scavenger hunts and other interactive activities, but it also teaches young ones how to respect nature and what to do to avoid harming it in any way. We really appreciate this addition.

  1. Looks like fun, but the problem is, it also looks like it is strictly for the little ones. The great thing about Agent P, Sorcerers and Pirates is that they are appealing to all ages.
