Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort - Preview Video

The Universal Orlando Resort recently published a special preview video that gives us a glimpse of the great new hotel that is currently under construction behind Universal's Islands of Adventure theme park. Take a look:

This will beUniversal's newest and largest hotel, and will offer some of the exclusive theme park benefits that other three existing on-site hotels already offer, including Early Park Admission to select rides and attractions at Universal's Islands of Adventure®, one hour before the park opens (valid theme park admission required). This new hotel will also offer moderate and value priced accommodations including family suites that can sleep up to 6 and have a kitchenette. You'll be a short walk or complimentary shuttle bus ride away from both theme parks.

Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort opens in phases starting from early 2013 (some say as early as January).

  1. Wow it is really ugly. I know they were going for a 50s/60s theme, but I think it just looks old and tacky.

  2. It looks like the tacky hotels in Las Vegas during the 50s and 60s. Yech! I really don't understand who they are trying to impress with this look.

I heard that this hotel would not have the extra benefits the other three hotels have for the parks. When did that change?

  3. Karen, why don't you read the text included with the article. I know it's a daunting task but your reaction would look less ignorant.

  4. Actually Don, the text doesn't specify what ISN'T included, which is what Karen's point was. It only states that it will include "some" exclusive benefits, and gives one example (early admission to the parks). But the word "some" implies more than one benefit. If you visit the Universal Orlando web site, it seems that the existing hotels include Universal Express Unlimited, while this new resort will not. However, the new resort will offer early admission to the park/rides that the existing hotels do not.

  5. Carl - Their web site is not very clear, but existing hotels DO offer early admission, but I agree with you that Cabana Bay will NOT offer Express Unlimited. I also agree with the other comments that hotel is really ugly.

  6. Thanks, Carl. What I was referring to, Don, was other blogs and Universal who said at one point that the new hotel would not include the Express Unlimited. Thank you for pointed out that reading is important, but being rude isn't.
