Next-Gen Project: News on the Touch-to-Pay System

The new touch-to-pay devices can now be found all around the Walt Disney World Resort, but some of the features have presented some minor (and sometimes even major) issues for both Cast Members and Guests. For this reason, some Enhancements have been made to make the entire system more efficient. This includes:
  • The ability to swipe Disney Gift Cards on the devices;
  • The addition of a blue light if the Guest’s Key to the World card or Magic Band is not read on touch-to-pay devices at food, beverage, merchandise and recreation locations;
  • The addition of a new semi-permanent tape to help stabilize the device as Guests swipe credit cards or other forms of payment;
  • In order to help Guests position their cards in the correct orientation while swiping, enhanced graphics will be included on the stationary device to make it more visible;
These are just some of the changes that have been recently made to make the Guests' experience as efficient and easy as possible. Look for even more tweaks and additions in the near future, as tests will continue to be done.
