When Pirates Stop Singing in the Caribbean Sea...

The Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at the Magic Kingdom Park is a very complex attraction, and it is definitely one of the most visited theme park rides in the world. The Audio-Animatronics, although old, are still very impressive and continue to amaze Guests visiting the park.

Unfortunately, the ride frequently has to deal with issues and problems (due to the complexity of the attraction itself), and sometimes it can also create some quite amusing (or creepy situations). Want an example? The enjoy this video that we personally took at the beginning of January 2013. Notice how during the middle of our voyage we start hearing warning messages from some of the ride's operators. Then, all of a sudden...

Definitely a very unusual situation, wasn't it? Like we stated before, the ride may have frequent technical issues, but we personally never saw the entire ride's audio being shut down. That was especially surprising since the problem that the attraction was experiencing was just linked to the water pumps (or so they said). Why did they have to completely take away the sound? We don't know, but it definitely was an out-of-the-ordinary sight.

  1. I believe they shut down the audio because the ride was down/ not working right for a certain length of time, people mite become annoyed listening to the same thing over and over and it mite take away from the ride more so then if just the audio was turned off. People mite not go on the ride from the bad experience. But that is just a guess.

  2. With you running a site like this, you really need to work on the quality of your equipment if you are going to be posting video and photos. That's just my opinion.

  3. Pretty safe to assume the audio was shut to keep people calm as the previous person stated. Not too hard to figure out.

  4. @2nd Anonymous: The camera we use is actually one of the best small cameras. Didn't you hear the audio? Also, the attraction takes place in complete darkness, which is very hard to capture with any camera (unless you spend a couple thousand dollars, but we don't plan to ever do that). You definitely don't follow our site daily. Our photos are usually very good (as most of our Readers state).

@3rd Anonymous: Yes, we definitely are aware that what you stated is the reason for them shutting down the audio. We just wanted to hear some comments from our Readers, that's all! :-)

  6. Wow... that anonymous poster. What kind of camera quality are you expecting in a completely dark ride!? Look at any of the other pictures/videos on the site and you'll see that it's obvious that the camera quality is very high.
