Disney Parks Blog: First Official Test Track Photos

The official Disney Parks Blog just released some great photos showing some of the interior areas of the new Test Track - Presented by Chevrolet, including the queue and pre-show areas. Enjoy:

Until now, the people that got to see the renovated Test Track (including us) have given some very positive feedback, and the general consensus is that this is definitely a great improvement over Test track 1.0. have you personally had the chance to preview the ride? If you have, make sure you leave a comment about your experience! We (and other fellow OTPN Readers) would love to hear your opinions!

  1. The refurbished attraction really looks terrific. It harkens back to the spirit of what Epcot stood for in its inception - a look into our future - which is especially felt in the queue area. There are also some clever tributes to World of Motion, the original Epcot city model and Test Track 1.0. The ride itself is fundamentally the same. Your car still undergoes similar vehicle tests as before, with the exception of the environmental chambers. The on-ride photo is still taken, except now its taken outside on the track. Aesthetically speaking, the ride portion is well-themed and not as "Tron"-like as the artwork made it out to be, but it is reminiscent of it.
Overall, the ride is a massive improvement over Test Track 1.0, and clearly suggests that the Imagineers didn't have to cut corners with this attraction. Personally speaking, Test Track 2.0, is now the crown jewel of the park, even surpassing Soarin'.

  2. Personally, I like the older version much better...this new version of the rides just seems to be made up of cheap cardboard and black lighting with projectors...

I'd like to point out to you, your use of the word "seems". Whatever you see in photos and videos doesn't hold a candle to reality. Experience it, then come back and give a more fact-based review.

  4. Well, I have ridden it, and I think Test Track 2.0 is just awful....classic ride totally ruined. Disney really botched this refurb.

  6. After riding the new version, I think the refab was basically useless... It's not that I don't like the new version. It's just that there are almost no changes from the original. Of course, it's the same track, etc, but it's like they just painted all the original set pieces black with neon trim. However you wanna spend your money, Disney! Doesn't matter to me!

  7. I think it's awesome, and a much needed update. The new Test track feels like Epcot, even down to there use of the original pavillion logos! Plus, I love the TRON feel to it.
