New Test Track Entrance - Official Artwork Released

Image
The official Disney Parks Blog just released a new artwork that shows the renovated entrance that is currently being put together in front of Test Track. Take a look at that, and tell us what you think about it:

Did you notice the World of Motion in the left corner of the big "T"? That's definitely a nice nod to the past. The new blue color scheme also looks very nice. The only negative aspect of this entrance? That ugly canopy.

A Close Look at the Fantasyland Expansion Model

Image
As you know, the New Fantasyland Forest is now officially open for Cast Member Previews, and they will soon also start admitting Annual Passholders, DVC Members, D23 Members, and finally regular park Guests. That said, there are still some areas of the Forest that will not open to the public until 2013 (Princess Fairytale Hall) or 2014 (the Seven Dwarfs Mine Ride).

There is actually one place where you can preview these attractions, but on a much smaller scale. We are talking about the New Fantasyland model that was installed in May 2012 inside the "Walt Disney: One Man's Dream" exhibit of Disney's Hollywood Studios. Take a close look at this model:

Typhoon Lagoon Under Rehab Until January 5, 2013

Please, be aware of this advisory, which may impact your future visits to the Walt Disney World Resort:
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be temporarily closed for refurbishment beginning from October 28, 2012 through January 5, 2013. During that period of time, Guests can still enjoy Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, which will continue to be open until January 5, 2013 as an alternative. The reason behind this extended closure is simply routine maintenance to improve the various areas of the park.
As always, we thank you very much for your attention, and see you real soon with more updates coming soon.

Universal to Make Major Announcement on Nov. 1

It looks like it is finally time for Universal to announce something very important in the near future.
All the theme park fans that have followed our photo-updates in the past few months know very well what Universal is going to announce. Even though Universal Orlando is trying to keep it all a secret, it has been confirmed by an incredible amount of sources that the announcement will definitely involve "Transformers - The Ride," which will be an almost exact clone of the Transformers ride that opened not so long ago at Universal Studios Hollywood. We expect Universal to release artworks showing the exterior of the ride's building (that is something most of us really want to see!) and possibly some renderings of the ride itself.
But, a question remains: "When will the announcement take place?" According to the official Facebook Page of the Universal Orlando Resort, this important announcement should take place on the following date:

SeaWorld Update: Antarctica's Rock-Work (PART 1)

Image
SeaWorld Orlando has a truly fantastic theme area in the works for its Guests. Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin is sure to become a hit among visitors. How do we know this? Well, the few artworks released by the park gives us a lot of information about the extensive theming of this new area, but seeing it with our own eyes made it even clearer that SeaWorld is soon going to open an area that may rival the New Fantasyland Forest that recently soft-opened to Guests at the Magic Kingdom Park.
But we are not stingy. In fact, we would like to share with you some of the photos we took during our most recent visit to the park. We hope you'll enjoy them:

Imagineers Comment on The Country Bears Rehab

Image
As most of our readers certainly know, the Country Bears Jamboree Audio-Animatronics show just reopened to Guests a few days ago. When it reopened, many fans were happy to see that all of the bears received new fur and the overall quality of the sound was much better than before, bu some also felt bitter because of the fact that the show's length was cut by about four minutes. That being said, here you are some comments made by Walt Disney Imagineers regarding this major refurbishment, from the Disney Parks Blog: _________________________________________________________________________

He was taking a sightseeing tour of the area surrounding the Walt Disney World Resort (this photo was taken near the Crossroads Shopping Center, located right in front of Hotel Plaza Boulevard):

According to some news we recently received, he is still not back in front of the attraction's entrance, but he'll be back soon. Oh, and Brer Bear wishes to all of our readers a Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah evening!
A big thank you once again to Lars for providing us this nice photo!

In fact, they are in the process of changing the name for the Guest in-room Wi-Fi to “In-room Guest WiFi (Disney)”, while the new name for the Wi-Fi internet available in the public space will be “Public Space Guest WiFi (Disney)”. If by any chance you happen to experience any issues accessing the Internet, you are invited to contact Walt Disney World Telecom at 407-827-2732.

Fantasyland Expansion: New Information from Chat

Image
As most of you know, the official Disney Parks Blog recently hosted a special live chat with Chris Beatty, one of the Walt Disney Imagineers working on the new Fantasyland Forest project. He shared with the blog's readers some new information, as well as some great photos from the area. Here you are some of them.
First of all, at the beginning of the chat, Chris Beatty shared this new video of the Be Our Guest Restaurant:

The New Fantasyland - PART 1: Maurice's Cottage

Image
It was 2010. Walt Disney World fans all over the world were rejoicing. They could hardly wait to see the new Fantasyland Forest coming to life at the Magic Kingdom Park. Despite the fact that the project received some major (overall, very positive) changes, fans (including the Orlando Theme Park News Team, of course!) continued to keep a close eye on the construction progress week after week.
Here we are today. Phase 2 of the New Fantasyland is now in soft-opening phase, and after more than two years of work, Guests can now see the splendor of the great thing Walt Disney Imagineers created for our entertainment. Did they meet our expectations? No. They actually surpassed them. Don't believe us? Ask the dishes. Then take a look by yourself, making your way through our 11-PART Fantasyland photo-gallery. Due to the fact that the photos already take a lot of space, we will definitely limit our comments. Just enjoy!:
Our first stop will be MAURICE'S COTTAGE, home of ENCHANTED TALE…

Disney made no indication whatsoever that flash photography was not allowed inside during this time, so don't worry if you see a few photos taken with the flash:
