Today, the Orlando Theme Park News Team was able to witness something that most people would consider superfluous, but that a true theme park fan would consider absolutely great.
While strolling along Storybook Circus (by the way, we will post an incredibly big Fantasyland photo-report tomorrow afternoon), we decided to take a peek through the openings of the walls that separate Storybook Circus from the yet-to-open section of the new Fantasyland Enchanted Forest. At first, it looked like workers were just testing some water features installed near the faux ship that has been placed in front of the "Journey of the Little Mermaid - Ariel's Undersea Adventure" dark ride... but that was not what they were doing.
In fact, we left for a minute or so, but then we thought about going back to take better photos of the ship, and what do we find? Well, the workers were installing the big Ariel figure on the ship itself! Take a look:
As you can see, at first we didn't see Ariel...
But after a few minutes, she was "accompanied" to her very own reserved spot:
As we said before, we will soon have a complete Fantasyland update, so stay tuned!

i adore that Ariel has arrived!
It's shame that she came after I left :'(
I won't see her for another two years :(
Wow...These photos are PG-13. Hands gentlemen, hands! Thanks for the update!
So great to see! Thanks Sam! I have to admit that Hubs and I had quite a laugh however, at the um placement of the Imagineers hands while installing her! LOL ;) Shelly
I don't think kids should see these photos. Yikes.
I'm sorry, but what is wrong with these photos? It is just a statue that they were installing. There is no other way to do this, as the iron bar sticking out from her back was parallel to her front.
Come on. You don't see the humor in Ariel getting felt up by those workers? That's just funny!
What's funny is you can see the imagineers/workers having some giggles over it.
WOW! This is good. For sure kids will enjoy more. Can't wait to see more updates.
@Anonymous 2: Okay, I Wasn't sure if you were joking or if you were serious! :-)
Thanks. Not only did I appreciate the news, but it brought a few giggles my way as well. I'll be there next weekk and I can't wait.
So are they testing the on and off switch for the attraction or is this a demonstation what to do at the meet and greet. Oh come on, thats funny.
Still think it's creapy to see her nailed on a ship wreck.
LOL, everybody had to get in on the act of touching Ariel's... Yeah, just so happens that that's the best place to hold her up. The first two guts were like, "Hey Joe! Get over here and hold this up for us! Might be the only chance you get to do this!"
The first few pics are G-rated...then it's like six of hand on a boob. Funny stuff! And yeah, the construction workers are completely giggling
LOL. I was saying the same thing when looking at the pictures! Great update! Can't wait to see it when its done!
All I can say is LOL. But on a serious note, can't wait til the new Fantasyland is done!! I am ready to go!!
