We’re highlighting one great movie per day that’s currently playing on Disney Family Movies. Today it’s the genuinely hilarious Turner & Hooch, starring some actor named Tom Hanks, in honor of The Walt Disney Company announcing the start of principal photography on their new film Saving Mr. Banks, in which two-time Academy Award-winner Tom Hanks will portray none other than Walt Disney.

“Ah, ya stupid dog!” Everybody loves America’s favorite actor, likeable Tom Hanks, and Hanks is at his earliest, funniest best in 1989’s action comedy Turner & Hooch. Policeman Scott Turner (Hanks) gets more than he bargained for when he takes in the dog of the murder victim in his case. Suddenly he’s falling for for the vet, Dr. Emily Carson (St. Elmo’s Fire’s Mare Winningham) and knee deep in both a case that may cost him his life, and doggie-doo-doo. Craig T. Nelson (CBS-TV’s Coach) rounds out the cast in a true mutt of a comedy that’ll have the whole family barking for more! “Hooch!”

Trivia: Hooch was played by a doge de Bordeux named ‘Beasely’
