Here you are a couple of photos of these new items, kindly sent to us by one of our readers (Paul G.) who we sincerely thank:

_________________________________________________________________________
This Week in Disney History: September 21-27
Sept. 24, 1961 -"Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color" debuts on NBC The original "Disneyland" television show in 1954 was one of the considerations given to ABC in exchange for helping finance the construction of Disneyland Park. By 1960, the park had turned enough of a profit for Walt Disney to buy out ABC's stake, leaving him free to take Disney programming elsewhere. Many episodes of "Walt Disney Presents" had been shot in color for ABC, which was still broadcasting in black and white, and Walt wanted to take full advantage of the latest technology for the medium. In 1961, Walt relaunched the show on Gene…

Transformers Ride Construction: Behind the Walls

Image
The Orlando Theme Park News Team was visiting Universal Studios Florida yesterday afternoon, and the park was - as always - full of busy construction workers involved in the multiple project taking place in the park. As we checked out the future Transformers Ride area, we had the possibility of taking a look behind the construction walls, something that we were never able to do before due to the constant presence of Team Members guarding the area (By the way, there are still a lot of them roaming around the area).
But before taking a look at those photos, let's first see the Transformers area from our usual point of view:

Possible New False Killer Whale Spotted at SeaWorld

Image
As you may know, SeaWorld Orlando mourned the loss of their only false killer whale a few months back. The whale was part of the Blue Horizons show, which has been running with one less animal in the past few months. Today, thanks to a photo sent to us by one of our readers (Ben Zwaan, currently visiting Orlando from The Netherlands), we may have a confirmation that a new false killer whale is indeed at SeaWorld:

Even though noting has been confirmed yet, it would be nice to have a new false killer whale in the show. Of course, Jozu (that's the name of the false killer whale that passed away) will be dearly missed. We will continue to keep you up-to-date on the subject.

‘Wreck-It Ralph’ Characters at Hollywood Studios

Image
The official Disney Parks Blog has just confirmed that Guests will be able to meet some of the ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ characters inside The Magic of Disney Animation building, at Disney's Hollywood Studios: _________________________________________________________________________
‘Wreck-It Ralph’ Characters Are Coming to Disney Parks This November
I’m excited to tell you Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope Von Schweetz, two of the main characters from Disney’s newest animated adventure comedy “Wreck-It Ralph,” will soon be making their debut at Disney Parks.
My family and I can’t wait to see “Wreck-It Ralph.” In the movie, video game “bad guy” Ralph is tired of being overshadowed by Fix-It Felix, the “good guy” star of their game who always gets to save the day. Ralph takes matters into his own massive hands and sets off on an adventure across the arcade, with potentially disastrous results! Along the way, he runs into feisty misfit Vanellope VonSchweetz from the candy-coated cart racing game,…

Work on Future I-Drive LIVE District Official Started

Image
Today we have got a very short (but still, very significative) photo-update on the I-Drive LIVE project. As we posted a few days ago, this project had been delayed for a while due to some side issues, but fortunately it was recently approved by the County Commissioners, and the developers were given the OK to start the work.
For this reason, we went back to the former Mercado location (the future location chosen for this new addition) to see if work has actually started, and it looks like the developers have kept their words:

Minor Additions Coming to Pirates of the Caribbean

The Disney Parks Blog announced earlier today that some minor new additions will soon be introduced inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at the Magic Kingdom Park. Here's the article from the blog: _________________________________________________________________________
Ahoy! Changes Are Afoot at Pirates of the Caribbean at Magic Kingdom
In honor of International Talk Like a Pirate Day, I’m excited to have a bit of news to share on one of my all-time favorite attractions, Pirates of the Caribbean here at Magic Kingdom Park.
This classic Disney attraction, which inspired a four-part film franchise, has undergone a few changes in recent years due to the success of these movies. First, Captain Jack Sparrow made his debut at the attraction, then Captain Barbossa (pictured above) appeared aboard a pirate ship. More recently, the ghostly apparitions of knaves Davy Jones and Blackbeard have materialized.
Our friends at Walt Disney Imagineering dropped us a line today to let us know …

This Week in Disney History: Sept. 14-20
Sept. 15, 1958 – The Viewliner miniature train closes at Disneyland Park Walt Disney had a lifelong love of locomotives, even saying that Disneyland Park should “look like nothing else in the world. And it should be surrounded by a train.” The Viewliner, a miniature railroad that operated on a figure-eight-style track in parts of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, was touted as the fastest miniature train in the world. It was designed by Disney Legend Bob Gurr and powered by an Oldsmobile V-8 “rocket” engine. The attraction was even operated by Walt and Bob themselves during the opening-day festivities, as they hadn’t had time to train any ride operators. T…

The Battle for Brickbeard's Bounty: FULL SHOW

Image
A few weeks ago, the Orlando Theme Park News Team decided to go back to LEGOLAND Florida to take a look around the park in search for news to report. Among the many interesting additions in the park, we were able to catch one of the last shows of the day of "The Battle for Brickbeard's Bounty," LEGOLAND Florida's water-ski show themed after LEGO (and non-LEGO) pirates.

As it was announced by the park, the show received some important tweaks, including a few pyrotechnic effects, more stunts, a different (but somewhat similar) story-line, a few new themed props on stage, and more water effects. Today, we give you the opportunity of watching the entire show (including the new pre-show):

If you had the chance to see the previous version of this show, how would you rate this re-imagined show? Would you like to see even more stunts? What about the pyrotechnic effects? Also, does the show appeal to adults now? In our opinion, this version of the show is more engaging and l…

"Be Our Guest" Menu Highlights, Including Alcohol

Image
The official Disney Parks Blog has finally revealed more information regarding the food and beverage items that will be served inside the new "Be Our Guest" restaurant in the New Fantasyland, including something that very few people were expecting: winces and beers. Take a look by yourself (you will find the link to the complete beverage menu after the break):

Transformers Ride: Placement of the Ride's Entrance

Image
During our most recent visit to Universal Studios Florida (that took place only two hours ago), we finally got to see the first steel columns that represent the "skeleton" of the new Transformers - The Ride building, currently under construction in the former area of the unused Soundstage 44. Even though the building has not yet received its outer walls, these steel columns give us a general idea of where the entrance of the ride will be:

I-Drive Live Project Approved, Work to Start Soon

Very good news coming from International Drive! After weeks and weeks of delays and debates, the I-DRIVE LIVE project has finally been officially approved by the Orange County Commissioners. This means that work will start very soon in the once-abandoned Mercado area. Here's what the Orlando Sentinel said: _________________________________________________________________________
