General Magic Kingdom Update: Late August 2012

Craving for a new photo-update? Look no further, as we take you along with us in this quick Magic Kingdom update! We will take a look around all the areas of the park, with the exception of Fantasyland. Enjoy!:

Concrete work near the ticket scanners:

Work on the left side of the main entrance of the park continues:

New castle icon on the Times Guide:

Main Street U.S.A.:

These projectors should soon be moved back to be hidden from Guests' view in time for the debut of the new "Celebrate the magic" projection show, according to some reliable rumors:

Our beautiful castle:

Work continue on the former Swan Boats station near Tomorrowland:

 A closer look:

Inside the structure:

By the way, work also continue on the installation of the new railings on the Tomorrowland bridge:

Work has begun also on the other side:

Some railings have already been installed:

Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor is just a... joke. Why did they replace "From Time to Time" with this is beyond me:

There are still some nice references to the Timekeeper attraction in the queue. At least something was left:

Work near Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin:

I am starting to seriously dislike the look of our Tomorrowland. I would love it to become Discoveryland:

Everything looks so cheap, so metallic:

Moving over to Liberty Square, work on the new path continues:

Next-gen poles at the Mansion:

Work on the roof:

A quiet Frontierland:

Work continue on the former Crows' Nest:

A quick stroll through Adventureland:

Outside the park, work will soon begin to extend the number of bus shelters:

And this is all for now. Thank you for reading, and see you soon with another new photo-report!

  1. I happen to like Monsters Inc Laugh Floor, and our tomorrowland. If you want to see a cheap Tomorrowland...visit Disneyland...

  2. ECK! Both Tomorrowland's look cheap and Discoveryland in France, if you've been there recently as I've been fortunate to have been, looks VERY dated to the 90's. The whole theme of both Tomorrowland and Discoveryland is difficult to accomplish.

  3. They could save a lot of money refurbushing everything if they just renamed it Metalicland, and voila they'd be finished!

  4. I love the metallic Sonic the Hedgehog trees. You're opinions are not shared, but some new stuff in Tomorrow Land would be cool.

  5. The projectors were there in May. I think they are always within view, it's just that no one looks up there.

  6. Well, WDW's Tomorrowland was the future envisioned by those in the 1930s (neon, metallic structures, etc) built by those in the 1990s, so since 20 years have passed, maybe we'll get the future envisioned in the 1950s (clean lines, stark whites), which, coincidentally, is what we pretty much had in the first place.

  7. Im also missing the timekeeper. One of my favorite attractions from Disneyland Paris. Buzz lightyear that replaced the ride in Paris is great but when i enter the show building i always Think how great the timekeeper was . Discoveryland in Paris is still fantastic - timeless. Loves the Jules Verne theme.
