Disney Movie Summer Games: Daily Update (July 31)

Here you are today's update on the Olympic Summer Games, as always presented by Disney Family Movies:

Tuesday, July 31st DFM Summer Games Update: We're only in week one, but already the Games and the memories from London are piling up. Monday saw moments of great triumph for Team USA, including the remarkably poised 17-year-old Missy Franklin beating her own U.S. record and tasting gold in the 100 meter backstroke (on Twitter: @FranklinMissy), and, astonishingly, Marti Malloy coming off a lose in judo to pick up bronze for Team USA (on Twitter: @Martidamus). Monday also brought moments of disappointment, as the Men's Gymnasts failed to podium (on Twitter: @USAGym) and Ryan Lochte fell to Yannick Agnel of Team France. However, we have a feeling Lochte Nation (on Twitter: @ryanlochte) isn't done yet!

But perhaps no better memory will come out of the Games Monday than the news that British Olympic torchbearer David State, who proposed to his girlfriend when he was carrying the torch, became a father to a daughter named Ellie. Talk about future Summer Games memories!

Tuesday brings the US Women's Gymnasts competing for their first team gold since 1996, as well as Michael Phelps going for his 19th career medal (on Twitter: @MichaelPhelps). Plus, beach volleyball, water polo, table tennis, sailing, soccer and skeet shooting --  a whole host of future memories from London 2012.
